*"WE'RE DOING THIS FOR YOU, RANDOM CRACKHEAD LADY"* -Patrick Casey 2018
3 of my great-grandparents were immigrants (technically four but Canada’s not a real country,) and it’s pretty much impossible to differentiate me from someone of purely colonial extraction. Meanwhile, there are racial groups in this country which have not assimilated for centuries.
Spending bill is going to Trump's desk
No truer words have ever been spoken. God Bless you.
"With very few exceptions, race is the hard line of assimilability."
Exactly. The reason I consider myself a *white* identitarian isn't because I believe in some pan European fantasy, it's because I believe there's hope for assimilation among people of European heritage who are already here. Although I don't support further European immigration, I'm not going to go back and demand than Irish or whatever be remigrated. We can acknowledge that although communities of recent immigrants are almost universally dysfunctional, but still acknowledge that by the third generation they're generally okay.
@ophiuchus yeah every immigrant group sees "immigrant" as part of their identity. Which is why I told my 2nd Gen northern Italian coworker yesterday that in New America, only whites can vote and immigrants can only vote after 3 generations so as not to disrupt the the native vote. He didn't like it until I told him I was joking.... Kind of but really
^ I would support that
@FACINEMA how did you get that cloudy effect on your text
wut
Its a screen shot fam
Oh I was gonna say
It's true though. Generationally his father is Italian, speaks Italian, and loves Italy. His son doesn't speak Italian but still has a slight affinity for Italy and travels there occasionally. But his kids will have about as much attachment to Italy as I do to Germany which is nothing at all.
He used the “black people meme” filter.
Statred my sandbag pile for my wall today.
I'm not self hating or whatever. I genuinely care about my fellow 2nd generation immigrants, but part of caring about them is acknowledging that our community has a lot of problems.
The WASPs, despite how they are now, used to be pretty damn tough on integration. My grandfather had to convert to marry my grandmother.
My fathers first language was Italian And i can barely understand my grandpas English lol
lol my first language was Polish
Hello [[[my fellow 2nd gen immigrants]]]
hahaha
unironically yes
@Jacob How do pronounce stuffed cabage? Halupki?
it's gołąbki in Polish
My great grandmother apparently tried to teach me some Danish (I don’t remember, she died when I was 6,) but I refused and apparently told her “Danish is icky.”
Do you have a polish setting on your keyboard
I stand by that tbh, it’s a horrible language.
ł is pronounced like w and idk how to explain the pronunciation of ą but it sounds like a French vowel
@Asatru Artist - MD Lol...just got that.
Is it nasal or something
Ha
Ashamed to say I don't
Yeah @ophiuchus but let's not kid ourselves. Every immigrant community changes the nation. Washington wasn't dropping his kids off at kindergarten and going to grab a brew at the biergarten. It's just that over 3 generations, whites tend to assimilate and we don't really care too much if our culture becomes adulterated with more bierhauses and Irish pubs and Italian food after a while
@fgtveassassin yes I do

BILINGUALS GTFO 😂
But race is really the thing we can't overcome. Chinatown will never feel like America. Nor will Mexican neighborhoods. Etc.
