"oh, I see you have a degree in *squints* race studies from Evropa Vniversity"
Do you think you’re winning over anyone without making arguments other than broad generalizations pertaining to you
Actually curious
arguments dumb
Also curious
What is “just trying a bit harder” mean
@⚡Clark⚡ I sense a bit of broad generalizations on your part.
I’m an academic at heart and my life has only been more problematic when I’ve lied to myself about that fact.

Big brains rise up
@DeusVolk Same here. I always thought I was just “lazy” but instead I’m just more of an academic than a blue collar. 🤷🏼♂️
Nobody knows what will happen we have to be ready for anything
tbh I have no idea what I am
A blue collar life can be pure torture if you're not cut out for it. I've watched my husband try to fit in that box since we moved here. It's not working.
@⚡Clark⚡
At the core of your argument, I generally agree that the university system is largely a sham and in an ideal world much of our state funding should be cut from it. Our high school educational system should be improved and universities should be few and relegated to the elite with a limited amount of useful fields taught (maths, engineering, science, etc...a limited amount in the arts)
But. that is not the world that we live in. Attending college and studying a useful program is THE way to get ahead - and all of our members who can, should. You're much more useful holding our views and being successful and connected, than holding our views and not.
@missliterallywho interesting. Would you mind elaborating a bit more?
@missliterallywho I believe that 100%. Logan is mega brained.
Lots of corrupt people, systems and infrastructure out there, but totally withdrawing from it is simply not the solution, or an option.
I guess he needs to become who he is
Nothing doxy, just curious - is your husband more of salesman type? Did he take a tradesman job because he couldn’t find anything else?
Opting out of the upper class is not how we retain the power of the upper class. At the end of it, blue collar work is lower class. We need our people to do it, but if we don't have worthy leaders, we'll just be thankless slaves instead of skilled tradesmen
Right now, we have too many white men going to college for degrees that are useless.
@fire.within - FL He has a very specific math degree that he can't use anywhere in Montana. He has tried construction, and truck driving since we got here and is now in an entry level office job waaaay below his abilities. He enjoyed the muscles he got from construction but the lack of respect from coworkers, among other things, has convinced him to get fully certified for the career his degree is in and move us somewhere he can use it. He'll earn upwards of 100k after 2 years.
@Nemets book for that?
Not saying this applies to i.e. man, but lots of white men who fancy themselves “academic or professional types“ ought to be in the trades where they can make a good living and support a family

FTN is saying there’s not as many poison pill and black pilling as we thought in the wall bill
Academia can be quite a lucrative living
I do think it’s useful having a backup, hands on skill set to fall back on in addition to having a degree.
@fire.within - FL Id rather spend my life doing what I love than be miserable and not try in something I hate and end up dropping out of. You know, whatever trade it happens to be because I just don’t care enough to have the motivation.
what were they trying to do though?
how was their political party different?
ah okay
