@Papa Pizzagate This one is just an easy trip out to a lake with friends. But normally backpacking trips into remote areas. Some extended mountaineering trips too when I have time and people to do it with
That's epic. I need to pick up a bit more gear to do backpacking again, but I really enjoyed it when I was a scout.

Don't disagree, I have a great milsurp place down the block from me.
But sometimes with milsurp stuff, weight isn't much of a consideration - depending on age - which is critical for backpacking
I think I messed up my back carrying heavy backpacks tbh

@Papa Pizzagate True. I’ve got essentially two full outfits and two different backpacks depending on how far I’m going/weight conscious I am

I did get a really great sleeping bag at the milsurp place though, light, 30degree bag and only like $25 irrc. @Louis Loire - NY was with me, and pretty jealous of that find.
