> Anyone used a life straw?
@GRANITE I have. They work very well for what they do. I used it when I was riding motorcycles in Madagascar, and in Cali, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado rivers.
Awesome. Yea I got a 3 pack to have in the GO bags.
I haven't used mine yet, but picked one up
The Sawyer Mini filters quite a bit more water than the LifeStraw, I would recommend the Sawyer
I see a lot about shelter and projects and such, but how many of you are intimately familiar with edible plants, fungi, and animals within your region?
@TwiddleDick Just fried a bunch of frogs and bluegill the other night. Haven't really looked for morels though.
Oh yeah, spring turkey season tasted good too. lmao
Green briar’s young shoots are also edible. Sand plums and wild blackberries are also around
Yeah I got to get me some blackberries. I'm growing my own stuff though.
Actually I should just plant some blackberry bushes instead of looking around for them.
I need to cook spme more bluegill
They are pretty tasty
Ye
@goofy_murican I never thought I'd want/need them... but I think I'm gonna get some puttees just as a fashion statement... hahaha
hell yeah bro
they are such an under rated piece of kit
And now I need a throwback uniform to WWI
I want like a modernized version....
If you can make that work, go ahead
I have no idea how I'd do it. Lol
I mean, I'm gonna be rocking the civil war garb with a tacticalized musket...
I've already got a Civil War Unifom.
Yankee or reb?
Mainly Yank, I was cavalry. But would occasionally go Reb at some events if we needed to help even the numbers.
I see
I do yankee reenacting as infantry
still working on piecing together my uniform
Yeah, It's not a cheap hobby and I honestly have been hurt more by horses than anything else. So I don't really do it anymore.
I did it as something to do with my dad, but I dislike horses enough to not want to get back into it.
that stinks
I've had a pretty good time doing infantry myself. although I would like to get my hands on a 12 pounder gun for shits and giggles
Hahaha, you know the rule for being an artillery man, right?
Don't stick your dick where the powder goes
You have to weigh as much as the cannon in order to be one.
lmao
I don't know if you've ever even looked at those guys.
But they're some big boys.
I have, and you ain't wrong
Only ever ran into one crew that wasn't obese. Really cool dudes out of Georgia, they were horse-drawn artillery.
it's almost like they picked the most sedentary position in the hobby...
