@Da/k/ota if you decide to get a VPN service, I suggest https://privateinternetaccess.com or https://nordvpn.com or https://protonvpn.com

2020-05-01 02:14:05 UTC

What are thw pros and cons pf proton? Can I use a vpn service in a laptop previously used without it?

2020-05-01 05:05:49 UTC

Proton is just a good package deal with it's own email service to go along with the vpn, and yes, you can turn the vpn on and off at anytime for any reason (some services may vary in this)

2020-05-01 23:01:39 UTC

@[MS] Foxtrot795
It was announced at 11am

2020-05-02 01:44:27 UTC

We should set up an IOC

2020-05-02 01:44:53 UTC

Y’all can’t pass and disseminate info for shit

2020-05-02 01:47:58 UTC

Dawg half of us don’t even know what that is

2020-05-02 02:01:15 UTC

That’s the issue

2020-05-02 02:01:48 UTC

Teaching is great but we need people who know what their doing first

2020-05-02 02:06:34 UTC

I can't do software shit. I only do in person stuff.

2020-05-02 02:07:16 UTC

An IOC is an Intel Ops Center

2020-05-02 02:07:55 UTC

A central “hub” for gathering, analyzing, aggregating, and disseminating information.

2020-05-02 02:08:06 UTC

Ahhh, a TOC, or G2X

2020-05-02 02:08:11 UTC

^

2020-05-02 02:08:15 UTC

Bingo

2020-05-02 02:09:06 UTC

For those that don’t know. TOC = tactical ops center, G-2 = general staff officer 2 (intelligence)

2020-05-02 02:09:15 UTC

Military intelligence terms

2020-05-02 02:09:34 UTC

Indeed.. I mean, I have no idea what the hell those things are.

2020-05-02 02:10:14 UTC

But yes. We need a “G2” so to speak. It should be a group of volunteers who have actual experience and knowledge of the intelligence process

2020-05-02 02:10:36 UTC

Training you guys up on local Intel and collection is good but we need national capabilities as well

2020-05-02 02:13:16 UTC

I'd love to help out on that, but I'm about to deploy here soon, so I won't have the ability to stay constant.

2020-05-02 02:13:25 UTC

Stay safe

2020-05-02 02:14:03 UTC

Thanks, you too.

Woof, shoulda kept the typo.

Intel needs its own server for the purposes of formalizing intelligence processes across multiple domains, as well as to provide a platform for more formally allocated workloads in order to generate reports containing all relevant information with respect to an event/concern/operation.

"Read the comments" doesn't scale, and relying on community members to spontaneously generate good info is either unreliable, or will result in a lot of intermittent, redundant efforts.

2020-05-02 19:37:11 UTC

@Reno thanks, should've checked for that before posting

2020-05-02 19:45:50 UTC

Also a weekly “sync” wouldn’t be a bad idea either

2020-05-02 19:47:59 UTC

True

2020-05-02 19:49:06 UTC

<#704438705947017327> should be a clearinghouse for intelligence products, and a point of contact for the broader Eskimo community

Do we have people here willing to work with and represent regions/areas of intelligence?

2020-05-02 19:54:05 UTC

I’m in NC but I’m not as familiar with the region as a whole as I’m from the north, but I can advise on cyber matters.

2020-05-02 19:59:11 UTC

I don't think we have enough people to justify having anything like bureaus. We need to lay the ground work first, that way we can vet and onboard people in proportion to our capacity and needs.

How we allocate domain authority should similarly be determined early on by the seed population of Intel volunteers.

If we do assign regions, we'd probably begin using FEMA/census style subdivisions

2020-05-02 20:03:22 UTC

That would make sense
