King if you don't get out this channel I'm going to send an even stronger argument

2019-10-07 23:45:54 UTC

Philosophy is the "why" and science is the "this is why".

2019-10-07 23:46:00 UTC

I’ve yet to hear an argument for an objective morality which holds up to scrutiny. The most convincing objective moralities stem from a belief in theism, and I don’t think someone can empirically prove the existence of a God, they can only rationalize it’s existence, so it’s insufficient for asserting that all should follow that particular moral code. @Deleted User

GG @fuck12moredeadcops, you just advanced to level 7!

2019-10-07 23:46:24 UTC

You heard an argument for subjective morality that holds up?

2019-10-07 23:46:26 UTC

There is no objectiely "correct" thought.

2019-10-07 23:46:33 UTC

There.

2019-10-07 23:46:33 UTC

That’s the other option. @pennypal

2019-10-07 23:46:38 UTC

And people certainly assert morality

2019-10-07 23:46:44 UTC

Either it’s objective or subjective

2019-10-07 23:46:46 UTC

It’s not neither

2019-10-07 23:46:51 UTC

All ofour thoughts are from emotions, experiences, and relations.

2019-10-07 23:46:54 UTC

@fuck12moredeadcops

1) If there are no moral facts, there are no epistemic facts
2) There are epistemic facts
3) Therefore, there are moral facts

2019-10-07 23:46:58 UTC

If it's subjective it's not moral... Objective morality can be situational though

2019-10-07 23:46:58 UTC

GG @pennypal, you just advanced to level 5!

2019-10-07 23:47:14 UTC

@pennypal Explain.

2019-10-07 23:47:28 UTC

Why would it be impossible to have epistemic facts without moral facts?

2019-10-07 23:47:49 UTC

@pennypal Give me an example of an objectively moral action.

2019-10-07 23:48:05 UTC

It should be simple, right?

2019-10-07 23:48:09 UTC

Good question and it's one which I can't explain in a paragraph. So either we have to vc tomorrow or I can give you a book to read.

2019-10-07 23:48:15 UTC

If morality is not objective then it's based on majority rule or authoritarian mandates... And it's changeable...
Then it's not moralitity. Morality has to be mandated from an external source

2019-10-07 23:48:38 UTC

Yeah we’ll talk about it sometime

2019-10-07 23:48:50 UTC

@pennypal Again, give me an example of a morally correct action that is inheritely correct

2019-10-07 23:48:51 UTC

It's called the partners in crime argument

2019-10-07 23:48:54 UTC

Because it’s an interesting idea to me that we have no epistemology without ethics

2019-10-07 23:48:57 UTC

Raping toddlers is always wrong forever

2019-10-07 23:49:03 UTC

Objective

2019-10-07 23:49:07 UTC

And if you want in depth break down of it

2019-10-07 23:49:09 UTC
2019-10-07 23:49:20 UTC

No, the whole Idea of rape being bad is only because it's bad for the advancement of people.

2019-10-07 23:49:24 UTC

Then again,

2019-10-07 23:49:31 UTC

Rape isnt bad for everyone.

2019-10-07 23:49:40 UTC

I didn't say it was bad for everybody

2019-10-07 23:49:47 UTC

Why is the advanced of human beings desirable? @DjPhoenix

2019-10-07 23:49:58 UTC

@pennypal It needs to be "for everyone" or it's not objective.

2019-10-07 23:50:06 UTC

Noo

2019-10-07 23:50:11 UTC

That makes no sense

2019-10-07 23:50:15 UTC

@fuck12moredeadcops Im sure your intelligent enough to answer that question yourself.

2019-10-07 23:50:16 UTC

@Deleted User It’s been awhile since I had a good discussion about ethics and epistemology, I look forward to a conversation with someone who isn’t smoothbrained.

2019-10-07 23:50:31 UTC

@DjPhoenix I think arguing that it’s self-evident is conceding that you have no argument.
