I called, only got through to voicemail on the second number

If they are closing the phone lines is it worth also tweeting to Kevin Mccarthy? https://twitter.com/GOPLeader

got through!

While we are calling reps, should we be calling about supporting border wall funding too? such as Dem reps that might switch over? I have all Dem reps here

yeah precisely ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Dylan - NY I'm a former leftie!

a few things

being told over and over how I have to apologize for white privilege, when I've had a hard life

trump winning

the left name-calling people and saying their ideas were wrong, so I decided to just watch their stuff and judge for myself

but if it was one moment, it was seeing Jared Taylor in a round table on immigration, and thinking who is that well-spoken, intelligent man? and I saw he was a "white nationalist" when I looked him up, and debated with myself about whether to watch him but decided to go ahead

Yeah, Taylor got me to consider things I wouldn't have gone for (it took me a while to accept IQ differences and freedom of association) because his content is so high-quality (lots of facts, intelligence, respect for anyone he's debating or being interviewed by)

I think a good strategy is making white advocacy seem like the more virtuous choice. It seems like a common theme in history that white people get very motivated when they think a cause is just.

like, shaming white people and telling them they're unvirtuous works very well against us (e.g., Gandhi's strategy against Britain, the left now)

and we have historically gotten very motivated to do things like abolish slavery, bring civilzation to other continents, etc.

the left is already framing this as a matter of good vs. evil

so unless we are definitely on the side of good, hopefully more than the left, we seem like the evil side

yeah

Yeah, and identitarianism, particularly when set against globalism, is easy to characterize as virtuous

Some ways identitarianism is virtuous:
All groups of people can follow their destiny (as JT says)
Honoring the ancestors who made your culture or fought to preserve it
Better wages and protections for the poor, elderly, and infirm, when work and benefits stay generally within a group (compared to open borders)
Better civic engagement and cooperation when there is a cohesive culture
Better for the environment (compared to moving people from low-carbon use countries into ones where they will use more carbon)
Preserving unique cultures, cultural diversity (similar to preserving languages or endangered species or subspecies)
Counteracts exploitative nature of global corporations

@Virgil I think that's true. Many people who would otherwise be on our side say that playing "identity politics" is bad. one possible rebuttal could be to say that each group decides on how to embrace and further its own identity. white people don't need to do it the same way as black people.

@Virgil I agree completely. It works better if we don't seem like demagogues or self-serving.

I think it helps to universalize when we can (white people have long been fans of universal morality), like Jared Taylor does, and say that we are for identity for all groups, that all peoples should follow their destiny, etc. Survival for all groups. Positive pride for all groups. Respect the unique contributions of all groups. that kind of thing.

Interesting thread, if you want to add a redpilled comment

Anyone have experience with latex mattresses? Looking at Spindle

@hbutzer0511 cool that CIS is suing SPLC.

This is going to be fun, Coleman Hughes on Julian von Abele
https://quillette.com/2019/01/16/tiers-of-pride-and-shame/

"At a glance, itโ€™s hard to reconcile the belief that von Abeleโ€™s comments were bigoted with the fact that black activists routinely get praised for making similar statements. Von Abeleโ€™s remark, โ€œI love myself and I love white peopleโ€ sounds eerily similar to โ€œI love my blackness and yours,โ€ the Twitter mantra of Black Lives Matter leader Deray McKesson. โ€œWeโ€™re white men, we did everything,โ€ nearly echoes a statement made in a commencement speech by Alicia Garza, a co-founder of Black Lives Matter: โ€œWithout black womenโ€ฆthere would be no me, no you, no us, no civilized society of which we speak. Weโ€”I, you, and meโ€”we owe everything to black women.โ€ Von Abeleโ€™s monologue, universally condemned, took lines straight from the scripts of Americaโ€™s most celebrated racial justice advocates."

well his conclusion is that we ought to narrow the divide between what's acceptable in terms of pride for black people and white people, make it more of an even standard

@celticflame Sorry to hear it! Hope it's nothing

@Johnny B. Populus just watching allsup's now... the opening image cracked me up

Excited, I think I can make it to the salt lake city event.... LOPF is too far but this one is within range for me. looking forward to meeting some folks!

@Jacob yeah I agree with that

I heard something by A. E. Housman that I liked and wanted to read more

2019-01-20 05:56:01 UTC [Literature Club #poetry]

ooh this is where I heard the Housman, "what are those blue remembered hills.... That is the land of lost content, I see it shining plain, The happy highways where I went, And cannot come again." (in a video about multiculturalism coming to Britain)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFEIzzX9PKU&t=120s

I have always known, since high school, even before I was race-conscious, that I was most comfortable around Indian (continent) people, of all non-white people. and it turns out they're probably genetically closer to Europeans (than other non-white groups) and often classified as Caucasian anyway.

Diversity is a pretty ironic "moral" goal, when the book makes the case that it increases discomfort, violence, etc., and decreases social cohesion and community.

I thought this was a good quote at the end

Kind of poignant, like what do we do if it was a mistake

the last word is "expectations"

It's not difficult to reduce diversity in your persona ll ife

*life

same here, my high school was 80% white when I went there and is now 80% minority

even without moving, you can surround yourself with white people as much as possible.... friends, people you hire/patronize/etc.

Random thought but would anyone be interested in doing google trends research? e.g, track awareness of IE, track interest in various topics that we talk about?

Shall we comment on the AP covering the teenager's side of the story (his written statement)? https://twitter.com/AP/status/1087195299695812618

@VinceChaos wow, love that Ramzpaul video

I was thinking, it might be cool if people on different sides of the divide would have a YouTube video exchange: like they watch 5 of yours, if you watch five of theirs. I feel like people are getting such different sets of information and arguing on the basis of completely disjoint sets of facts.

Exactly...

Could just offer on youtube comments or reddit or twitter or something, like I'm an identitarian, and if you want to change my mind, send me 5 videos, and I'll send you 5, and we'll share a few notes to show we watched the videos. kind of like Steven Crowder's change my mind things.

Yes, you have to virtue signal as a leftist, to keep the leftist mob from coming after you, to show that you are one of the "pure" leftists.

@nord yes that's true

It's motivated by my thinking that every time I check back with the left and see what people are saying on those threads, it seems they are more open about calling for violence toward their ideological opponents, which reminds me of the Chinese cultural revolution. I want to cool things down if we can. through like, video/book sharing truce or something. (although there's a risk if you put yourself out there as an identitarian, you could draw an attack)

these people have an intense desire to convert us. if we can use that desire to get them to look at our information, we might spread info

and maybe have humility; we don't know everything either. I'm sure there are things I'm missing in my current media diet.

August Ames got "seriously hurt," some other people have gotten hurt, from sjw bullying. It was pretty shocking after that how many of the people who had bullied August were not at all self-reflective. https://forward.com/opinion/390296/its-time-to-call-out-bullying-by-social-justice-warriors/

It's really not a joke; it's a dangerous form of hatred.... I suppose, call it out when possible and see if people who do it can be held accountable. It shouldn't get a free pass because it's done in the name of "justice" or "equality" or whatever.

It got a little darker than I anticipated since I got was on the book group call, but here are a few I put up around sunset

@DeusVolk It really is... kind of like a cult. leaving it is very similar to leaving a religion.

Yes!

lots of friends shifted away, not because we had a confrontation, but because (I feel) they feel it is wrong to be my friend now or something?

thought this was a good excerpt from Nick Fuentes last night, that white people don't see things in terms of race/tribe when other people are seeing the issue that way https://youtu.be/ynFOJTo6D8g?t=2697

Is this how you archive a page? anyway. article on IB in Germany https://archive.fo/0plsx

title: Should we be worried about Germany's far-right 'Identity Movement'?

The Covington kid reminded me of something that I learned from Steve Pavlina.... when people say ridiculous things to you (or do ridiculous things) one of the best responses can be smiling (or sending a ๐Ÿ˜ƒ if online),.... that's something Steve does. confuses the opponent.

I believe her book was mentioned in White Identity

there's a good resolution in North Dakota house, "The North Dakota House is urging Congress, and the President to fund and construct a wall on the southern border.
House resolution 3025 also urges enforcement of federal immigration laws."

https://www.kxnet.com/news/bismarck-news/north-dakota-house-urges-congress-and-the-president-to-build-a-wall/1717320783 (I am having trouble getting the archive thing to work, is it normal for it to take a long time?)

For this topic, I recommend Samuel Francis' Essential Writings on Race. he thinks through lots of ideas and has good, respectable arguments.

@Myndrian do you find that you get withdrawal if you quit taking these? I tried pituitary glandulars once before and had weird symptoms when I quit taking them.

@Ian I would believe it. I used to work in advertising and when an ad failed like the Gilette ad, the company would often even switch ad companies. it's a thing that happens from time to time - a company bets big on an "edgy" "topical" ad hoping to catch the spirit of the times, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

haha the Gilette ad was from an affirmative action ad person
"Gillette opted to use Kim Gehrig, one of a new generation of directors showcased by the Free the Bid campaign, which attempts to hire more female directors into advertising."
