So, back on 03/12/2018, I paid a plumber to clear my laundry room floor drain, because it was backing up. Well, it just started backing up again, only two months later. Not sure what it could be. I put a lint trap on the laundry hose, so it is not like a bunch of lint has been collecting in the pipes - and even if it were, it's only been two months. Normally, it has taken a year or longer before the pipe began backing up again. There is also a lint trap on the basin drain. I put a quarter-sized circular piece of rubber on it, to slow the flow of water, but it still backs up. The water that comes does retreat eventualy, but there should be no water coming up again this soon.

@RevStench No, the dryer has a flexible tube that extends from the from back of the dryer directly outside.

@RevStench @John O - The plumber came out on Tuesday. He snaked the line again and determined that the pipe is broken and sand is leaking into the pipe, which is causing it to drain slowly. I am going to have to replace the pipe that starts at the basement floor and leads to the main sewer line, which is fine. It will be about $1,000.00 or so. In the meanwhile, when running loads of laundry, I have to let it drain about a third of the cycle, then stop and let the water take its time through the pipe. This means that I cannot just put a load of laundry and let it go on its own, without water backing up. For now it is just an inconvevnience and quality of life issue.

@Reinhard Wolff That announcement you posted, about an Idaho man facing five years in prison for using a racial slur. That happened in 10/2000. It was ultimately resolved by 01/2004. The man and his wife were financially ruined in the process. They attorney who defended them pro bono ended up dying in prison a decade later, after he was sentenced for hiring an assassin to kill his wife and mother-in-law.

When my bathroom sink water was turned on, it would back up into the bathtub. Went downstairs with a 25-foot hand snake. After about a half-hour of push it through the pipe by hand, I used hand crank to push it through and out came a six-inch sausage of hair. Very gross, but problem solved. Few things in life feel better than saving $150 on plumbing house call.

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN @Asatru Artist - MD Just catching up to the conversation about the blackening of Marvel comics, LotR, Star Wars, etc. I just don't see how a five season series on LotR could be any good, even if they only use high quality White actors. The story has been told once well enough. There is no reason to go back to Middle Earth. The problem with the mining of used up franchises like Star Wars and LotR is that any story told in those universes must ultimately revolve around an already finished plot. There can be no interesting prequel nor a sequel that doesn't ruin the first story.
