2020-11-05 13:14:37 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Indeed. The UK used to be good at that balance.

2020-11-05 13:14:41 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Not so much recently.

2020-11-05 13:16:07 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

I am not american.

2020-11-05 13:16:46 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

But...I cant really find any conservatives at all in the occident. It seems the categories of yesteryear are gone. Everything has turned into a popularity context. Reality TV.

2020-11-05 13:17:06 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

The philosopher Byung-Chul Han states that it is the end if ideology.

2020-11-05 13:17:15 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Im in Norway.

2020-11-05 13:18:07 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Note that you will find no real left wingers either. We are left with gramscianites and maoists who wants to influence gender identity to produce equality of outcome.

2020-11-05 13:18:14 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Which isnt really left wing at all.

2020-11-05 13:18:34 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

According to basic Marxism, its actually right wing.

2020-11-05 13:19:07 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

I recommend Byung-Chul

2020-11-05 13:19:24 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

he understands this "death of ideology" better than most contemporary thinkers.

2020-11-05 13:19:57 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

he claims the post-modern man is unable to uphold ideologies, because products and product branding has taken the place of thinking.

2020-11-05 13:20:30 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

so political parties are not of ideology, but of chance crowding people, centering their identity on a flag, a name, a sticker.

2020-11-05 13:21:23 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Politics then being reduced to focus-group agendas. Popularity contests. Ideas, visions for the future, long term strategies no longer possible.

2020-11-05 13:21:31 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Explains a lot, doesnt it?

2020-11-05 13:39:09 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@TheParamedicGamer "Yes we can" wasnt very specific either. ๐Ÿ˜„

2020-11-05 13:49:03 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

"make america great again" is somewhat more specific, but more so emotionally. I have seen no explanation of what this greatness entails and how it is to be achieved.

2020-11-05 13:49:54 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

these slogans are specifically designed to be vague, so that the voter can project their own dreams and needs onto them. Like horoscopes. Commercial psychology.

2020-11-05 13:50:19 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

@โ™คamanda well, at least a heart that had run out of time.

2020-11-05 14:03:24 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@โ™คamanda Modern politics. It was much more specific before the dawn of focus group politics.

2020-11-05 14:03:35 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Ideologically oriented back then.

2020-11-05 14:07:16 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

well, groupthink is not ideology.

2020-11-05 14:07:35 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

The Mackrell is master of groupthink. It does not uphold ideologies.

2020-11-05 14:07:55 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

well...probably not... ๐Ÿ˜„

2020-11-05 14:07:58 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

fishism at most.

2020-11-05 14:11:23 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

I would say that is tribalism, no other ideology.

2020-11-05 14:11:47 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

If you dissect the political stance of right and left alike, you find very little substance.

2020-11-05 14:12:47 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Most of their political identities are anti-defined. They see themselves in light of what they are not.

2020-11-05 14:14:29 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

If nothing else it provides a feeling of control and transparency.

2020-11-05 14:57:21 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

what is the biggest impact of recounts in american history?

2020-11-05 14:58:47 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

" The mean swing between the top two candidates in the 27 recounts was 282 votes, with a median of 219. The biggest swing came in Floridaโ€™s 2000 presidential election recount, when Al Gore cut 1,247 votes off George W. Bushโ€™s lead, ultimately not enough to flip the state to his column."

2020-11-05 14:58:52 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

that was 2016

2020-11-05 14:59:46 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

"the average swing was 0.2 percentage points"

2020-11-05 15:02:44 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

any idea how many votes that is?

2020-11-05 15:05:24 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

I have a case of Carbernet riding on lawfare drawing out past 15th of january. ๐Ÿ˜›

2020-11-05 15:05:38 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Not in malice!

2020-11-05 15:59:25 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

Does the american system carry the habit of co-defendants council acting as prosecutors to shift blame?

2020-11-05 16:00:33 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

You mean these are just random cityzens who show up to check the voting on their own agenda?

2020-11-05 16:01:15 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

The lady in the video above comes forth as rather mature with low Karen-factor, doesnt she?

2020-11-05 16:05:09 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Agendas are the natural enemies of facts.

2020-11-05 16:13:35 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

Interesting article in interfax: *"The split of the United States following the presidential elections can lead to the loss of a single political center, which will sharply raise the question of the controllability of the American system. Who will obey the military of the huge American army, if there is no commander-in-chief, or there will be two or three of them at once? [...]" - said Shchipkov on the air of the TV channel "Spas"."*

2020-11-05 16:16:28 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

the russians are either concerned, or are playing concerned.

2020-11-05 16:24:45 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

or that is metafake news

2020-11-05 16:28:50 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

I wonder who he voted for.

2020-11-05 20:10:01 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

It is common here, which is why I ask.

2020-11-05 20:11:49 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

As a forensic witness you can sometimes experience more aggressive examination by other party defense trying to incriminate another defendant than from prosecution.

2020-11-05 20:12:58 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

But, one should mention as a layman one could get the impression that compared to the American system our justice system is in many ways in the dark ages.

2020-11-05 20:15:22 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

Norway

2020-11-05 20:15:26 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]
2020-11-05 20:15:41 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

cold and wet, yes.

2020-11-05 20:15:42 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #floyd]

(we are contaminating the room, its is about the floyd case).

2020-11-05 20:55:12 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@Zuluzeit If overreaction is 2 standard deviations above the median, then no.

2020-11-05 20:56:22 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #new-submissions]

dangerous word, discrimination.

2020-11-05 20:56:30 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #new-submissions]

As the human brain cant avoid doing it.

2020-11-05 20:57:26 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #new-submissions]

And is supposed to, one might add.

2020-11-05 21:17:09 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@Zuluzeit I understood your point, its just that you are somewhat condescending. I felt the need to remind you of some key properties of the human mind.

2020-11-05 21:31:14 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@Zuluzeit So you correct behavior by ridicule? These are anomic times, people are scared. And angry. If emotions provoke you, I suggest you try another approach?

2020-11-05 21:47:40 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Well, then there is a difference between how people absorb you and how you project. That is always interesting. I would like to explore this, but I suggest we would be contaminating a channel made to discuss the election, so that would have to be another time.

2020-11-06 04:50:53 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

@Lady Georgia You dont need to brainwash people to bring out the tyrant. Its build into the human psyche and will come out if nurtured. It looks like the "debunker" has misunderstood the experiment and is attempting to falsify an experiment which did not take place. Zimbardo is showing what *can* be done. Not what develops by random. Massive difference.

2020-11-06 04:54:05 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

If so, that is a misunderstanding of data provided.

2020-11-06 04:54:26 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

Its not what Zimbardo is showing. Like Milgram, he demonstrates what can be done.

2020-11-06 04:55:36 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

We repeated it when I was a resident, and i checked out here as well. Nurses were inclined to administer harmful doses of medication if an authoritarian doctor ordered it.

2020-11-06 04:56:03 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

Unless you can confirm it again and again.

2020-11-06 04:56:15 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

And test it by *coherency*

2020-11-06 04:57:14 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

Id call that misinterpreting the data.

2020-11-06 04:57:39 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

and misunderstanding how humans act in packs.

2020-11-06 04:57:46 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

Humans in populus always have leaders.

2020-11-06 04:58:01 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

You cant avoid that, as hierarchies are formed 3 sec after the elevator stops.

2020-11-06 04:59:40 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

You can have one authoritarian captain who demands cruelty. Does not invalidate the experiment. Such captains are found plentyful in the real world. All colors, genders and nationalities.

2020-11-06 05:01:09 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

It is polyfactorial. Always.

2020-11-06 05:01:53 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #scotus]

We are. And I would like to continue it. I have a full day, however, and we are contaminating now, yes. Ill look you up later for this? It is interesting.

Registers of political orientation. That is fun. I haven't experienced them since GDR. Makes me feel young again!

2020-11-07 17:25:18 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

China

2020-11-07 17:26:22 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Not free. It means you will get one if you work hard and is effective.

2020-11-07 17:28:00 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

Learn Mandarin first, perhaps?

2020-11-07 17:48:51 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

Again! Good old GDR! ๐Ÿ˜„

2020-11-07 18:50:47 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

Indeed. I am a cold war child. I feel at home with this.

2020-11-07 18:51:13 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

An iron curtain has certain romantic aspects to it.

2020-11-07 20:23:59 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@DeathRhodes666 I still have a crate of cabernet on the president being unelectable and Comrade Pelosi assuming the office of POTUS

2020-11-07 22:53:19 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@kopestetiq My prediction is still lawfare that drags out and then Comrade Pelosi.

2020-11-07 23:27:43 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

I agree. He was silly enough to try to play the roles of guard and EMT at the same time with no proper training in either.

2020-11-07 23:28:55 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

But then again...he was 17.

2020-11-07 23:29:11 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

The patrol leaves as boys and returns as men....

2020-11-07 23:29:26 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

Young men do stupid things.

2020-11-07 23:31:49 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

I too found it opportune to approach a war zone at that age. I am at the liberty to type this. Rittenhouse is not. That is just luck and unluck.

2020-11-07 23:33:28 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

also very human

2020-11-08 10:29:59 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

@Gypsy Maybe they see his cerebellar gait, analyse his vocabulary and deduce from there?

2020-11-08 21:17:25 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

@Zuluzeit Just out of curiosity, where do you have me categorized?

2020-11-08 22:51:00 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

@Zuluzeit I am neither

2020-11-08 23:16:19 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

I have no gate to keep except my own.

2020-11-08 23:17:09 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

I am never normative, I am entertained. I am the last humanist. A fan of man.

2020-11-09 08:34:14 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

@Gypsy I am not sure what constitutes a moron. It is a word I only use in traffic. I know, however, what constitutes cerebellar atrophy.

2020-11-09 08:35:43 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

In general, I am payed decently to assess other people, so if I am bad at that - This is really bad news for me, as I will now have to expect apprehension.

2020-11-09 08:49:45 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #election2020]

@SaberToothRat Goie More.

2020-11-09 09:41:34 UTC [RobertGrulerEsq #general-chat]

@Gypsy Agreed. I may be incompetent. If I am unable to correctly diagnose cerebellar atrophy this would certainly be the case. This is why I expect apprehension, as such incompetence would have resulted in wrongful convictions and probably a dozen maltreatments - and would therefore constitute criminal negligence. I also agree on your assessment of psychologists. You are not far off. It`s why I never even considered studying psychology.
