Howdy everyone! I'm Silver and I'm a novelist! I hope those of you in the US are enjoying a happy turkey day!
@AnObserver Here is a good post as to why the mobilization is difficult: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/90hul0/karen_straughan_on_why_mens_rights_is_so_difficult/?utm_content=title&utm_medium=user&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=u_Silver_The_Bard
Oh, well the blocking function works. ๐
@AnObserver Cool Theory. I thought those were the only two options myself for a time.
You could compare the Menโs Rights Movement to the Civil Rights movement in the 1960โs. A group devoted to changing society, by using the already established rules of civility.
But there have been a rise of two other groups that have puzzled me.
Incel is probably best compared to the Black Panthers of the same time era. A group fuel by hate that wants change BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
But now we also have MGTOW, a group also fueld by hateโฆ. But choose inactivity vs activism.
They choose to systematically remove women from their lives. No fighting. No resistance. Just ignore them.
@AnObserver Good observation!
I had discussed with my peer group a year back for viable ways to tackle the problem. We came up with a similar approach.
I had chosen to take the long-term approach to the same subject. My skills are in story telling and world creation. So I wrote a novel that started to blend those same concepts into an action packed thriller.
You would not believe how many red flags my editor tossed at my manuscript because they were โtoo
politicalโ. And my work is young adult! There is no sex and very little violence. Everything flagged was because it portrayed men or women in roles/actions that are not typical.
@AnObserver Do you work for a school? Or school project?
University of Central Florida here myself. Nice to meet another academic who is interested. ๐
@Men Are Human Thank you! I would love some new perspectives on the controversial subjects in the book.
It's the editors release. I wanted a version that was unedited for myself before the launch in march.
But I'll post a google doc link for everyone if you would like to read it and not buy it.
Heh. Google drive tossed around the format. But It's still readable.
It has an associated blog too: https://corgiknight.blog/
Previews of the art that will be released with it.
@AnObserver I feel the exact same way. I try not to demonize any of them. Even feminism.
I feel that ANY idea stretched to an extreme can be wrong. Most groups like Incel and feminism have just taken the idea a bit too far.
I have a question for @everyone!
Hello my name is Silver and Iโm a young adult novelist. Iโm currently working on a series that targets young men and the social issues that theyโll unfortunately have to face. And adventure!
In-between the action there are usually slice of life sections where the main characters are confronted with social hurdles to jump. For example, the first book has tackled: Equal gender responsibility in dating, Defending yourself priorities, Respect, False accusation.
What kind of issues would YOU want young adults to learn about, In the next book?
And donโt worry if these issues donโt have well defined answers yet, I have a duo of writers who help me hash out what could be an answer.
@asparkofpyrokravte Thank you for this! And yes ew for the "all". But this was one of those few situations where I did want to get everyone's attention.
I will use it sparingly.
@Skellious While these traits may be true for the evolution of past ages, what advantage do these things mean to our current age? We have built a society around NOT using brute force or physical prowess. Communication is king, yet it is still men that dominate the scholarly and philosophical pursuits. Should it not be women that hold this mantle with their enhanced evolution of perception and communication?
Very well put. I've also seen the increases in certain departments. Humanities is definitely higher up there in female participation.
But what about philosophy?
What we claim as the intrinsic ability to delve into ourselves, the constructs we create and the nature of the universe. It would seem that the supposed evolutionary advantages should incline more women to participate. But I hardly see anything that's not Feminism based.
Heck, we had two male based ideologies spawn from what it took women 60 years to cultivate. MRA and MGTOW. And technically INCEL if you want to count it.
In all of my days at the university, I have found it such a challenge to get a group of women to sit down and discuss philosophy. Open ended without being forced by a professor.
But if you just give a hand full of cannabis or psychedelics to a group of men and eventually the conversation turns to philosophy.
The point I'm trying to get to: Trying to make a basis of biological evolution for the way that either men or women interact with our current society is folly. There are too many conflicting variables.
I find it preposterous when anyone tries to claim that were growing as a society because of the increased female numbers in higher academia. Are they flocking to the four cornerstones that enhance our society? (Politics: Systems creation) (Economy: Systems maintenance and resource allocation) (Technology: Systems enhancement) (Philosophy: Human improvement.) No.
They are flooding humanities (Definition of what a human WAS) and Medical (Human maintenance). The humanities flooding allows them to start altering the viewpoint of what humans were BEFORE, and use that as a rational of why we should be doing what they think. Itโs like if I didnโt like the house I built, so I went back, misinterpreted the blueprints, and sued the builder for doing it wrong.
That is NOT a healthy way to build a society.
Well, I survived the purge.
Most fun 12 hours ever.
Looking forward to the next one.
I was over at r/againstmensrights and found this little tidbit.
Statement: โGay men are more likely to be the victim of hate crime than lesbians or bisexual womenโ
Response: "Who, disproportionately, commits those hate crimes?"
What are your opinions?
Heh. Regressive, I like it.
Sounds half built.
To be honest.
Is just awareness suppose to help the situation?
Hummm.
There we go.
Howdy @RandyLahey .
Evil finals.
We are here for you. Lay it out there.

I keep watch of posts in the feminism subreddit. I nearly spit out my coffee with this one. Love the lack of references.
What are your thoughts?
Howdy @LegendMan3D .
