yes, because it's _totally_ the 1%'s fault that Venezula completley fell to shit
totally
the author thinks that the shooter did this in NZ because of "Australia's strict gun laws"
because New Zealand had absolutely lax gun laws, obviously
are these people really this stupid, or are they intentionally trying to rewrite history at this point?
I guess I did already know that there's history rewriting going on
but... it's just hard to believe because of how _blatant_ it is here
then again, I guess a lot of people are going to read this article and never bother to look at australian gun laws vs. NZ ones
I hope he doesn't walk his comments back, though it sounds like he's said similar stuff before, according to the article, so it seems unlikely
That's a hell of a spin
that's beautiful
apparently there have only been around 40 gun turn ins done out of an estimated 1.2 million, if the screenshotted headline that I saw was to be believed
and if that's true, it's fucking hilarious
also, I appreciate that the hill seems to have gone all in on the idea of pointing out just how badly the media fucked up (presumably to cover their own asses). I saw that the next article after the one that @RoadtoDawn linked was called "Trump-Russia collusion did effect an American election - the one in 2018" and I thought 'oh boy, and they still keep doing it'. Only to read the article and find out that the person writing it was saying that the _claim_ of Russian collusion caused a ton of people to vote differently than they otherwise might have
3 vacations a year that cost a total of $18k, too
holy shit
every one of my (1 to 2 day long vacations) each year are "I stay at home and don't have to work"
yes, that's totally "average"
also
18k to charity?
if they feel like they don't make enough money, maybe don't give to charity?
sure, but if they're complaining about their salary feeling "average"
well, that's a fix for it
also, I barely save more fun money than them per year, and I'm living in my family home still to cut down on costs
AND I spend basically 0 money
(also it's not really "fun money" it's "I want to be able to buy a house when I move out, not rent an apartment and watch my money go down a drain" money)
let Styx get out of Vermont before we trade it off, @Lord Touchington!
I remember seeing a video of him a few years back
where he was trying to leave his driveway (in his car) and was being swarmed by paparazzi
and the car bumped into one of them, who fell over
so Bieber got out of his car and personally tried to help the guy out, then got pissed at the reporters that just tried to use it as an opportunity to shove cameras in his face and basically said "you guys are fucking awful; there's someone in front of you that's hurt and THIS is all you can think of doing?"
made me gain a lot of respect for the guy
I thought we didn't have any chick fil a up where i live
turns out there's one, not all TOO far away
maybe I'll go eat there just to spite the author of this article
(also because I keep hearing that they're good fast food)
I think I had it once when I was transferring planes somewhere down south when I was in like... 7th or 8th grade
that's Australia, isn't it?
the flag is Australian, and the URL is a .au URL
This is NZ's flag
he's definitely been moving towards libertarian at a somewhat slow, but steady, pace. I remember him doing a political compass test a few years ago and being moderately left of center. He did one again a couple of months ago, and was just barely right of center. I think one of his biggest sticking points is universal healthcare.
it's a complicated issue
because like many things the left often pushes for, on its face, it's a great idea
but the issues lie in the details of it
I have a friend who has a pharmaceutical degree, and from what he's explained to me, essentially, if the US went in on universal healthcare, our medical research would collapse, which would have a domino effect on the rest of the western world (since extremely cheap healthcare works in Canada and Europe because they buy drugs that have been on the market for a few years off of the US at a notably reduced price).
China would likely end up taking over as the leading country in medical technology, as well
At least, that's what he's explained to me. I may be misremembering this slightly, since it was a while back
I feel like red flag laws are a great red flag themselves
they tell you right away that the person proposing the law has 0 respect for the second amendment
yep
it's disgusting what's being done to Terese
I'm glad to see that she's refusing to back down
seriously. If the US splits, I'm not staying in New York. Hell, I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible for me to get out of the state _now_ and that's not even bringing any kind of country destroying event into the mix
I'm in Rochester area
so, right on Ontario, but further east than Buffalo
hey, to be fair, I'm from Ithaca
so I don't have the accent
otherwise, yes, unfortunately >.>
I think if Idaho were to join California and Washington in a country split as proposed, Blonde would have an aneurism.
I agree with @SpanishAbbey , though. It wouldn't really make sense for the mountain west to join the west coast. Honestly, I don't see how we could expect these countries to split along state lines, either.
@Lord Zedd and "racist". I don't listen to Alex Jones very much, but I can't think of anything that he's said that would be considered racist. I'm surprised they didn't go for "homophobic", since he's your average Christian small-l libertarian(ie "I disagree with your life choices, but I won't tell the government to get involved in your life")
what the fuck is that comparison even supposed to mean?
also, while it's a bad idea to be overly critical of yourself... man. Telling people to not judge themselves at _all_ is an awful idea
guess I'm proudly a bigot, then :^)
I just don't understand what's happened to the world
I grew up in one of the most heavily left leaning areas in New York (I lived in Ithaca as a kid) and self improvement was considered to be an extremely positive thing
I mean, I've seen this kind of argument from people on the left multiple times over the last few years, and I've never seen "be self critical, but not unhealthily so"
it's always been "don't judge yourself, full stop"
though, to be completely fair, I haven't read the article in the picture, so it could be the former, rather than the latter
buuuut from that opening paragraph, I get the strong feeling that it's the latter
it's from a manga
well, uh
I wouldn't recommend reading the manga that it's from then (called Made in Abyss)
it's, uh... not a very adorable story
I believe Dank is also running for the European Parliment, isn't he? I hope that the two of them win - it would be fucking hilarious, and I think that they'd be good voices to have in the EU, if the UK government continues to refuse to actually go through with Brexit
apparently it literally stands for "Member of European Parliament"
so yes, that would be the case
not a very imaginative name, is it?

I think Tim might be hitting the breaking point
I kind of hope that he starts replacing his beanie with a clown wig
fair enough, @C1PHER . Fair enough
it feels like it was still yesterday that Tim was ardently defending mainstream publications
I still remember him, in almost every video, saying "well, _this_ is crazy, but maybe they just don't have the correct information?"
at this point, he's just completely given up on it
what's funny is, for me
I never grew up with main stream media
we didn't have cable, and we lived on the side of a valley, so bunny ears didn't pick up ANY channels
NPR was the only thing we listened to in the car, and that was almost exclusively to listen to car talk and prairie home companion (otherwise, it was the local christian radio station)
and once I was off at college, I just kind of ignored the news completely
the mainstream media acting so fucking awfully has soured ANY chance that I ever have good faith towards them, period
but at the same time, I'm now paying attention to the news more than ever before in my life
so they managed to both make me realize the importance of news, and realize just how fucking awful they are at the same time
and that's a VERY bad combination to create
(for them, anyway)
well, that headline is a really fucking dishonest way of putting it
has anything actually come out of Barr's statement this morning? All I've seen is the left claiming that he's still trying to propagandize and spin the report
(which we knew they would be saying no matter what, but...)
while it would be hilarious to see dankula in a full suit like the rest of the people he's working with
it's almost more hilarious to see him just standing there in a button down shirt, jeans, and a tee shirt
This appears to be the court document for Vic Mignogna's defamation case
