That was good.

2019-03-26 07:03:34 UTC

Yeah I'm actually saving that article

2019-03-26 07:10:07 UTC

Wow, I never expected any of the media to apologise

2019-03-26 07:18:59 UTC

i wonder is it possible for the President to sue a media company like CNN, as far as I'm aware in the US anyone can sue anyone for anything (whether it'll make it past Summary depends) but I wonder if there are limitations placed by the position.

2019-03-26 07:20:13 UTC

The conventional wisdom holds that he can't because public figures can't be slandered, or something.

2019-03-26 07:27:37 UTC

they can but there's a higher standard of proof involved being actual malice or reckless disregard for the truth

2019-03-26 07:29:11 UTC

i think Trump is clear on both standards, I don't know if he would go through with the lawsuit though

2019-03-26 07:29:37 UTC

maybe after he's out of office, but I wouldn't be surprised if Don Jr, Carter Page etc did lawyer up

2019-03-26 11:29:18 UTC

What is the net worth of cnn? One way we could fight the media back is buy them up and fire all the commies

2019-03-26 11:33:09 UTC

Never mind. CNN is somehow worth 6-7 billion before taxes

2019-03-26 11:53:24 UTC

-$250M when Sandmann is done with them

2019-03-26 11:55:29 UTC

Lol.

2019-03-26 11:55:49 UTC

Maybe it’s possible to sue them into submission.

2019-03-26 11:55:59 UTC

They slander enough for it.

2019-03-26 12:08:50 UTC

that's beautiful

2019-03-26 12:09:07 UTC

I notice he left off the submarine attachment...tisk tisk

2019-03-26 12:09:39 UTC

apparently there have only been around 40 gun turn ins done out of an estimated 1.2 million, if the screenshotted headline that I saw was to be believed

2019-03-26 12:09:47 UTC

and if that's true, it's fucking hilarious

2019-03-26 12:10:36 UTC

My Kiwi Mates said they're not handing in shit.

2019-03-26 12:10:49 UTC

@Lord Zedd Italian submarine sandwich attachment mandatory buyback was last year, fam 👌

2019-03-26 12:11:34 UTC

also, I appreciate that the hill seems to have gone all in on the idea of pointing out just how badly the media fucked up (presumably to cover their own asses). I saw that the next article after the one that @RoadtoDawn linked was called "Trump-Russia collusion did effect an American election - the one in 2018" and I thought 'oh boy, and they still keep doing it'. Only to read the article and find out that the person writing it was saying that the _claim_ of Russian collusion caused a ton of people to vote differently than they otherwise might have

2019-03-26 12:12:49 UTC

hope they do it only takes one to start turning things around let them make their competitors look like raving loons it can only be good for their credibility

2019-03-26 12:13:12 UTC

what's really impressive is they still have a comment section

2019-03-26 12:13:14 UTC

Yeah the apology article was surreal. I was sure there was a cringy zinger waiting for me later down the page

2019-03-26 12:13:18 UTC

I forgot those things still existed

2019-03-26 15:23:13 UTC
2019-03-26 15:23:18 UTC

-_-

2019-03-26 15:59:48 UTC

Privilege strikes again

2019-03-26 16:23:56 UTC

I'm not sure if there's any way of verifying this, but GOA is saying that in court the government was unable to cite any instances where a bump stock was used in a crime. Not even the Vegas shooting?

This is from a few weeks back

2019-03-26 16:43:48 UTC

Good. Screw that “deal”

2019-03-26 16:55:31 UTC

The hill article written by Sharyl Attkisson, who is a decent reporter. I think she left CBS when they wouldn't let her report on the problems with the ACA
