There's no veneration at all in the Roman Church but if the Eastern Churches are fully Catholic too then surely that means he is a Saint?
Yeah, but extremely wack theology
@JoeyJoestar1337 God bless
The vast majority of homosexuality comes from some sort of trauma, not necessarily physical/sexual but trauma nonetheless
it is very sad
@Arkona 92 there's a difference between what you experience/feel and what's actually going on psychologically
I thought the story these days was that you're supposed to be born gay
Not sure about born gay
as far as I know theres no gay gene or something
its all psychological
/demonic sometimes
look up Joseph Sciambra
Joseph Sciambra by his own admission went gay from porn
hes a chaste catholic
but for ages he was a gay pornstar and said it was because he couldnt get enough from "normal" porn
yeah a lot of them are but
whenever you start getting loose with chastity it all starts to snowball
Well I think you can apply that question to all types of trauma
Like serial killers also usually have messed up childhoods full of trauma, so do most drug addicts etc
Also, without contradicting the psychological explanation there is a spiritual layer
40 days on nothing but daily mass and water
epiphany salt
it's just blessed on the epiphany
always "hovering" over you
and your every action
โThe final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family.โ
It's not a stupid mission
you're planting seeds ayy
join the hooded soldiers
those of us who retain our hoods
you know how it was popularised in the states?
Nah it was the same guy that started Kelloggs cereal, he hated sex and said that if you circumcise your kid they physically couldn't masturbate
he also marketed cornflakes as anti-masturbatory if I remember correctly
whoops forgot about that
sorry
no
anyone know a good place to buy chapel veils, online or otherwise? My newly baptised gf wants one. I'm in Aus.
lmao it wasn't always an island
people walked here
from Asia
picked them up?
sure there's proof
well I think you're looking for a naturalistic explanation for something inherently not natural which doesn't make a whole lot of sense
whether the flood literally happened or not it doesn't say much for the existence of God either way
well belief in God can be conclusively reached through reason regardless of whether you've even heard of Christ or not
this idea that there is no proof is silly, there clearly is
perhaps not any physical or material evidence
but it's completely philosophically logical
Yes, once you acknowledge God, Christianity stands as the most rational
this ^
as for the flood situation, whatever happened has no weight on the existence of God
if you click it and then click open original you can zoom in
are you on mobile or pc?
at any rate, the existence of God is philosophically demonstrable
if the flood did happen, it's perfectly logical for God to have been able to do it, and if it didn't happen exactly literally as scripture recounts, that's also consistent with God
well, the unmoved mover
so, the mere fact that there is something, as supposed to nothing needs an explanation
something either actually is, or potentially is
potential cannot make itself actual, i.e, things need causes
so if everything needs a cause, then somewhere along the line there needs to be a reality which can cause yet is uncaused, or else you end up with an infinite regress
well to start at number 2
if the unmoved mover is purely actual, and not potential, it couldn't not exist since that would make it potential
as for omnipotence, if the unmoved mover is not omnipotent that would mean there are unrealised potentials. This cannot be since it is purely actual
as for sentient, to create ex nihilo/be the first cause requires an act of the will.
yes
or create full stop without sentience
technically only God can create, we can only make
I've got a test in 20 minutes but ill continue after
thanks
God bless
yeah, I wasn't sure what was meant in this context by infallible
Thats what I said
we can only receive communion if we can't get to a Catholic church
but their sacraments are valid, yeah
also, we do share most of the saints since a lot of them come from before the schism
yeah like if it wasn't real then Christianity would have died out before it started
aren't coptics Monophysites?
what do your EO mates think about the Papacy?
yeah thats a big one
or like any council after the schism for that matter
do Eastern Catholics acknowledge filioque?
funny, Orthodoxy used to benefit from it when it was Catholic
his wife seemed a bit whacky with all the rasputin stuff
By his own admission he didn't want the throne right?
same
I'm aware, but it is a division in theology between east and west right?
my trad uni chaplain thinks it really just more semantics once you get past all the theological definitions and in terms of spiritual life etc we believe the same
My uni has this facebook page where people post anonymously for everyone to see
today there was one about a dude saying he slept with his gfs sister because she didn't want to sleep with him since her family was Catholic
and his justification was she can't treat him like that
too true
exactly
she wants you to say no
time to join the monastery
its a joke
but also he's ortho so it doesn't matter either way
some even have several national ones
