lmao the name of this chat, great ๐Ÿ˜‚

2019-03-19 00:45:06 UTC

A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

2019-03-19 01:19:25 UTC

lmao what is the point of this channel lol

2019-03-19 01:24:44 UTC

It's for Catholics to chat together and talk about how bad the prots are.

2019-03-19 01:35:45 UTC

my favorite part of the protestants is when they convert to catholicism

2019-03-19 01:37:47 UTC

My favourite part of the Orthodox is when they convert to Catholicism.

2019-03-19 02:02:14 UTC

who are the people with the Heathen role?

2019-03-19 02:08:18 UTC

No clue, but my favourite part about them is when they convert to Catholicism.

2019-03-19 02:21:36 UTC

lmao

2019-03-19 03:12:47 UTC

Ok fellow Gadoligs, what are your favorite prayers?

2019-03-19 03:28:28 UTC

Pretty big fan of the โ€œSalve Reginaโ€ and โ€œSub Tuum Praesidiumโ€.

2019-03-19 18:49:23 UTC

Council of Florence > Council of Trent

2019-03-19 18:50:20 UTC

Also, the Baltimore Catechism, whatever good it may be, was given to us by a Cardinal who was an Americanist, and is thus suspect

2019-03-19 18:52:09 UTC

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Goodbye

2019-03-19 18:53:25 UTC

I have the Baltimore Catechism. It seems generic.

2019-03-19 18:57:00 UTC

I admittedly don't have one, but if it was compiled by an Americanist, then it stands to reason that it may be tainted by that heresy, not that it is worthless or not better than what most Catholics are taught today.

2019-03-19 18:58:17 UTC

Also, really questioning Baptism of Desire or of Blood rn

2019-03-19 20:00:04 UTC

This one is much better. It was given to me by an SSPX priest when I was begoming gadolig.

2019-03-19 20:44:11 UTC

Baltimore Catechism is still pretty good. I didn't notice any problems the last time I read it.

2019-03-20 02:11:22 UTC

I imagine most Catholics would do good by reading it. It's just that the Cardinal who published it was very much an Americanist

2019-03-20 02:14:18 UTC

And part of that belief is that we should soften elements of the faith so that it's easier for others to accept (an extreme example of this today would be Fr. James Martin's softening of the Church's teaching on homosexuality so that it is easier to accept)

2019-03-20 05:37:28 UTC

What would you guys say is the best way of converting someone?

2019-03-20 06:19:45 UTC

Practise what you preach more than you preach it and don't set out talking to someone with the intent to directly convert them so much as the intent to indirectly convert them (I.E., show them the path to the Truth and help keep them there).

2019-03-20 11:59:44 UTC

Those don't work anymore

2019-03-20 12:00:23 UTC

Do you think people are converted when we practice, for example, chastity? Or fear of God? Or the differentiation of men and women?

2019-03-20 12:02:15 UTC

People have no problem giving money to widows, or giving charity, and at the same time being rabid atheists or whatever

2019-03-20 12:04:19 UTC

My advice is: learn the objections and good answers to them. Which is not difficult, considering the objections are always the same retarded, materialistic nonsense

2019-03-20 22:43:31 UTC

@Life's Illusion I'd take Charles Coulomb's advice here

https://youtu.be/7_GhAKyPDM8

2019-03-21 15:22:36 UTC

To be fair, apologetics is your biggest tool

2019-03-21 19:21:58 UTC

How can one writer be so out of touch from reality

2019-03-21 19:31:23 UTC

They can be protestant, for one

2019-03-21 19:35:19 UTC

Yeah, that should sum it up. I remember one "non-denominational" pastor who shared a meme of a saint.

2019-03-22 20:13:17 UTC

hello there fellow cats

2019-03-22 21:31:00 UTC

What does drunkard mean?

2019-03-22 21:31:51 UTC

To get drunk multiple times or just once in a while or rarely maybe?

2019-03-22 23:48:35 UTC

A drunkard would imply somebody who is frequently drunk

2019-03-22 23:50:02 UTC

I see

2019-03-23 01:19:35 UTC

does anyone have the source about Martin Luther converting himself as a catholic? I've heard of this but no one gave me any sources so far

2019-03-23 04:24:04 UTC

Hey Ironclad! How's it going?

2019-03-23 04:25:28 UTC

Could all of you please keep Fr. Nicholas Rynne in your prayers? He is engaged in the battle to save the Church in Tasmania and has maybe 4 other clergymen on that whole island for support.

2019-03-24 23:20:35 UTC

there are no safe spaces for the church these days

2019-03-26 19:08:46 UTC

Fr Rynne is a great priest in a tough parish. He actually used to run a Latin mass in Sydney near me before he went down to Tasmania (no surprise he was replaced by a modernist who shut the whole thing down ๐Ÿ˜ก).

2019-03-26 22:20:00 UTC

if your looking for a Latin mass in Sydney theres one over at Lewisham that I've heard of, not been to it myself but I'm planning to check it out soon

2019-03-26 22:42:02 UTC

Yeah Lewisham is pretty good. I try to get out there when I can

2019-03-27 20:42:45 UTC

I had a dream I was a priest last night

2019-03-27 20:43:10 UTC

It was really strange, I was investigating another priest for sexual misconduct

2019-03-27 23:50:36 UTC

Did you administer fraternal correction in the form of a heavy beating?

2019-03-28 06:44:58 UTC

Nah it was more like a Father Poirot situation

2019-03-28 06:45:06 UTC

I was just looking for evidence

2019-03-28 08:36:31 UTC

Put your Sherlock Holmes hat on

2019-03-28 22:48:26 UTC

Evening, gents.

2019-03-28 23:33:43 UTC

good morning

2019-03-29 22:05:11 UTC

Kek.

2019-03-29 22:05:22 UTC

Prots think they matter when we're more worried about Islam.

2019-03-29 22:31:22 UTC

are they trying to achieve something, or just yell and attempt to be relevant

2019-03-30 00:45:59 UTC

Scotch prots yell at clouds

2019-04-01 19:57:47 UTC

Don't use the word scotch

2019-04-01 19:57:51 UTC

it's cringey af

2019-04-01 19:58:14 UTC

Prots here don't celebrate anything but the 12th July

2019-04-01 20:12:57 UTC

@Mogy hi bro

2019-04-02 02:19:16 UTC

If I ever have to wait in line for three hours to confess again, I will literally ree at everyone who takes longer than five minutes, and probably have to confess mortal autism.

2019-04-02 02:20:38 UTC

Like, I swear there had to have been a Soviet collaborator who confessed every Ukrainian he starved, individually.

2019-04-02 02:51:35 UTC

Lmao

2019-04-03 06:12:51 UTC

Would you all please keep Fr. N. Rynne in your prayers? He has been found guilty of trying to bring Catholics in Tasmania to Heaven and the Archbishop has removed him from his post.

2019-04-03 06:30:45 UTC

whats the entire story with this priest? cause I've not heard of it, mainland news isn't reporting on anything but Pell when it comes to the Church

2019-04-03 10:03:18 UTC

We want more details

2019-04-03 10:10:32 UTC

"Parishioners were upset that Father Rynne was too conservative and had introduced Latin Masses"

2019-04-03 10:10:39 UTC

DER ERWIG BOOMER

2019-04-03 10:48:33 UTC

I hope you are ready for hard rage if you read the letter of the witch

2019-04-03 10:54:48 UTC

If you want to find a text version of it, jump over to the Legio Christi Forums, I typed it up and posted it to the discussions section.

2019-04-03 11:13:03 UTC

As for him being moved on, itโ€™s a cowardly, scummy, prick of a thing to do. Iโ€™m appalled.

2019-04-03 11:16:16 UTC

Archbishop Porteous and Bishop Elliott are supposedly supporters of the traditional movement, but I guess itโ€™s only so long as the money is right (Iโ€™ve seen Bishop Elliott give support to big parishes with a high collection every week while ignoring parishes with a large, youthful, thriving community of poor, hardworking families.)

2019-04-03 11:17:29 UTC

100 years ago, shit like that would've be gotten you an excommunication.

2019-04-03 11:18:05 UTC

By a literal fucking Susan as well.

2019-04-03 11:23:17 UTC

Also, donโ€™t be fobbed off by their provision of masses comment: Fr. Mark Freeman has been sent in. Fr. Freeman wears a pea-green suit and says that any sexual act is an act of love, thereby making it pleasing to God.
Pity my 70 y/o grandmother, who canโ€™t go to NO Masses and whose only other option is a 2hr drive to Sassafras (yes, that is a place) once a month (at most) for an SSPX Mass, but what with her age and a 30 y/o daughter with Downes Syndrome, thatโ€™s highly problematic for her.
Once again, the cucks up top step aside and hold the camera for the raping of the Faithful.

2019-04-03 11:26:05 UTC

'Maureen' clearly wasn't beaten enough during her time in Catholic boarding school.

2019-04-03 11:26:11 UTC

I am absolutely livid now.

2019-04-03 11:26:42 UTC

Fecking nerve of these susans to run a priest out of town and act like they have the moral highground.

2019-04-03 11:28:12 UTC

Sorry to ruin your week, man. Can I recommend โ€œBatman: Arkham Knightโ€? Itโ€™s helped me get rid of some of the violent anger Iโ€™ve felt at times. Iโ€™d suggest using a controller rather than your keyboard and mouse to control the game.

2019-04-03 11:28:32 UTC

Nerve of the bishops kowtowing to โ€˜em.

2019-04-03 11:28:51 UTC

Gonna write a complaint to the Bishops, I think.

2019-04-03 11:29:06 UTC

Possibly to 'Maureen' herself.

2019-04-03 11:30:21 UTC

I wrote an email to Archbishop Porteous, but I donโ€™t know how to contact Bishop Elliott, and as heโ€™s no longer in a position of authority over appointments and positions, it wasnโ€™t really worth it.

2019-04-03 11:30:25 UTC

Be stern but careful with the wording, since OY VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY POOR SUSAN JUST RECEIVED VIOLENT THREAT FROM THE SUPPORTERS OF EVIL TRADITIONAL PRIEST

2019-04-03 11:33:25 UTC

The important thing is to be civil but clear. Refer to your addressee correctly, state clearly what you want to say, but probably donโ€™t tell him heโ€™s โ€œacting like a commie piece of shitโ€. Be diplomatic about it.
Also, donโ€™t raise the issue of the physical assault on Fr. Rynne as the crux of your argument. Although it did happen, it was not a factor in Bishop Elliottโ€™s visitation because to involve could have had legal repercussions.

2019-04-03 11:45:07 UTC

is it possible to learn latin without going to any institution? Ya know, just... watching videos? Lmao sounds dumb but i really want to

2019-04-03 11:47:48 UTC

It is. There are two series that I would recommend: Latina Christiana is a good course for homeschooling, but the Henle Latin series is good both for homeschooling or for teaching yourself. Itโ€™s got a good balance of reading, translating, and declining/conjugation, and I was able to learn from it practically on my own.

2019-04-03 11:49:28 UTC

Iโ€™d also recommend getting something like the first Harry Potter book translated into Latin. I know, I know, โ€œmuh Harry Potter, muh sorceryโ€, but it gives you something to translate and it has a fairly good use of modern grammatical standards.

2019-04-03 11:49:48 UTC

Itโ€™s also cheap, which was a big thing for me.

2019-04-03 11:50:39 UTC

woah thanks man! I think you're really good at Latin?

2019-04-03 11:51:06 UTC

Duolingo is working on a Latin course.

2019-04-03 11:51:40 UTC

I know some Latin, but I need to practise more.

2019-04-03 11:52:34 UTC

Youโ€™ll probably also find an improvement in your native language as well, which is reason enough to learn a second language, as far as Iโ€™m concerned.
