lmao the name of this chat, great ๐
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
lmao what is the point of this channel lol
It's for Catholics to chat together and talk about how bad the prots are.
my favorite part of the protestants is when they convert to catholicism
My favourite part of the Orthodox is when they convert to Catholicism.
who are the people with the Heathen role?
No clue, but my favourite part about them is when they convert to Catholicism.
lmao
Ok fellow Gadoligs, what are your favorite prayers?
Pretty big fan of the โSalve Reginaโ and โSub Tuum Praesidiumโ.
Council of Florence > Council of Trent
Also, the Baltimore Catechism, whatever good it may be, was given to us by a Cardinal who was an Americanist, and is thus suspect
Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Goodbye
I have the Baltimore Catechism. It seems generic.
I admittedly don't have one, but if it was compiled by an Americanist, then it stands to reason that it may be tainted by that heresy, not that it is worthless or not better than what most Catholics are taught today.
Also, really questioning Baptism of Desire or of Blood rn
This one is much better. It was given to me by an SSPX priest when I was begoming gadolig.
Baltimore Catechism is still pretty good. I didn't notice any problems the last time I read it.
I imagine most Catholics would do good by reading it. It's just that the Cardinal who published it was very much an Americanist
And part of that belief is that we should soften elements of the faith so that it's easier for others to accept (an extreme example of this today would be Fr. James Martin's softening of the Church's teaching on homosexuality so that it is easier to accept)
What would you guys say is the best way of converting someone?
Practise what you preach more than you preach it and don't set out talking to someone with the intent to directly convert them so much as the intent to indirectly convert them (I.E., show them the path to the Truth and help keep them there).
Those don't work anymore
Do you think people are converted when we practice, for example, chastity? Or fear of God? Or the differentiation of men and women?
People have no problem giving money to widows, or giving charity, and at the same time being rabid atheists or whatever
My advice is: learn the objections and good answers to them. Which is not difficult, considering the objections are always the same retarded, materialistic nonsense
@Life's Illusion I'd take Charles Coulomb's advice here

To be fair, apologetics is your biggest tool
How can one writer be so out of touch from reality
They can be protestant, for one
Yeah, that should sum it up. I remember one "non-denominational" pastor who shared a meme of a saint.
hello there fellow cats
What does drunkard mean?
To get drunk multiple times or just once in a while or rarely maybe?
A drunkard would imply somebody who is frequently drunk
I see
does anyone have the source about Martin Luther converting himself as a catholic? I've heard of this but no one gave me any sources so far
Hey Ironclad! How's it going?
Could all of you please keep Fr. Nicholas Rynne in your prayers? He is engaged in the battle to save the Church in Tasmania and has maybe 4 other clergymen on that whole island for support.
there are no safe spaces for the church these days
Fr Rynne is a great priest in a tough parish. He actually used to run a Latin mass in Sydney near me before he went down to Tasmania (no surprise he was replaced by a modernist who shut the whole thing down ๐ก).
if your looking for a Latin mass in Sydney theres one over at Lewisham that I've heard of, not been to it myself but I'm planning to check it out soon
Yeah Lewisham is pretty good. I try to get out there when I can
I had a dream I was a priest last night
It was really strange, I was investigating another priest for sexual misconduct
Did you administer fraternal correction in the form of a heavy beating?
Nah it was more like a Father Poirot situation
I was just looking for evidence
Put your Sherlock Holmes hat on
Evening, gents.
good morning
Kek.
Prots think they matter when we're more worried about Islam.
are they trying to achieve something, or just yell and attempt to be relevant
Scotch prots yell at clouds
Don't use the word scotch
it's cringey af
Prots here don't celebrate anything but the 12th July
@Mogy hi bro
If I ever have to wait in line for three hours to confess again, I will literally ree at everyone who takes longer than five minutes, and probably have to confess mortal autism.
Like, I swear there had to have been a Soviet collaborator who confessed every Ukrainian he starved, individually.
Lmao
Would you all please keep Fr. N. Rynne in your prayers? He has been found guilty of trying to bring Catholics in Tasmania to Heaven and the Archbishop has removed him from his post.
whats the entire story with this priest? cause I've not heard of it, mainland news isn't reporting on anything but Pell when it comes to the Church
We want more details
"Parishioners were upset that Father Rynne was too conservative and had introduced Latin Masses"
DER ERWIG BOOMER
I hope you are ready for hard rage if you read the letter of the witch
Got a link?
Better:
If you want to find a text version of it, jump over to the Legio Christi Forums, I typed it up and posted it to the discussions section.
As for him being moved on, itโs a cowardly, scummy, prick of a thing to do. Iโm appalled.
Archbishop Porteous and Bishop Elliott are supposedly supporters of the traditional movement, but I guess itโs only so long as the money is right (Iโve seen Bishop Elliott give support to big parishes with a high collection every week while ignoring parishes with a large, youthful, thriving community of poor, hardworking families.)
100 years ago, shit like that would've be gotten you an excommunication.
By a literal fucking Susan as well.
Also, donโt be fobbed off by their provision of masses comment: Fr. Mark Freeman has been sent in. Fr. Freeman wears a pea-green suit and says that any sexual act is an act of love, thereby making it pleasing to God.
Pity my 70 y/o grandmother, who canโt go to NO Masses and whose only other option is a 2hr drive to Sassafras (yes, that is a place) once a month (at most) for an SSPX Mass, but what with her age and a 30 y/o daughter with Downes Syndrome, thatโs highly problematic for her.
Once again, the cucks up top step aside and hold the camera for the raping of the Faithful.
'Maureen' clearly wasn't beaten enough during her time in Catholic boarding school.
I am absolutely livid now.
Fecking nerve of these susans to run a priest out of town and act like they have the moral highground.
Sorry to ruin your week, man. Can I recommend โBatman: Arkham Knightโ? Itโs helped me get rid of some of the violent anger Iโve felt at times. Iโd suggest using a controller rather than your keyboard and mouse to control the game.
Nerve of the bishops kowtowing to โem.
Gonna write a complaint to the Bishops, I think.
Possibly to 'Maureen' herself.
I wrote an email to Archbishop Porteous, but I donโt know how to contact Bishop Elliott, and as heโs no longer in a position of authority over appointments and positions, it wasnโt really worth it.
Be stern but careful with the wording, since OY VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY POOR SUSAN JUST RECEIVED VIOLENT THREAT FROM THE SUPPORTERS OF EVIL TRADITIONAL PRIEST
The important thing is to be civil but clear. Refer to your addressee correctly, state clearly what you want to say, but probably donโt tell him heโs โacting like a commie piece of shitโ. Be diplomatic about it.
Also, donโt raise the issue of the physical assault on Fr. Rynne as the crux of your argument. Although it did happen, it was not a factor in Bishop Elliottโs visitation because to involve could have had legal repercussions.
is it possible to learn latin without going to any institution? Ya know, just... watching videos? Lmao sounds dumb but i really want to
It is. There are two series that I would recommend: Latina Christiana is a good course for homeschooling, but the Henle Latin series is good both for homeschooling or for teaching yourself. Itโs got a good balance of reading, translating, and declining/conjugation, and I was able to learn from it practically on my own.
Iโd also recommend getting something like the first Harry Potter book translated into Latin. I know, I know, โmuh Harry Potter, muh sorceryโ, but it gives you something to translate and it has a fairly good use of modern grammatical standards.
Itโs also cheap, which was a big thing for me.
woah thanks man! I think you're really good at Latin?
Duolingo is working on a Latin course.
I know some Latin, but I need to practise more.
Youโll probably also find an improvement in your native language as well, which is reason enough to learn a second language, as far as Iโm concerned.
