Just have to wait the PC release

2018-02-04 03:03:35 UTC

Same.

2018-02-04 03:03:53 UTC

I'm not a big fan of all the time needed for chasing down monsters though.

2018-02-04 03:04:10 UTC

Tracking the monster down was never the fun part, for me.

2018-02-04 03:21:43 UTC

I never played it, but I'm used to MMOs

2018-02-04 05:00:26 UTC

oops!

2018-02-04 05:00:29 UTC

is my face red

2018-02-04 05:05:55 UTC

thats a bad site

2018-02-04 19:50:03 UTC

So I'm still on my first campaign of Stellaris... is it just me, or the computer can accumulate an ungodly amount of minerals and burst produce it all in one go when attacked?

2018-02-04 19:51:46 UTC

Playing on normal.

2018-02-04 20:03:21 UTC

And what's really annoying, chasing down an enemy fleet that's running away from me.

2018-02-04 20:23:12 UTC

@DanielKO yeah, that's expected

2018-02-04 20:23:40 UTC

That's the first empire that I'm trying to steamroll... it's so frustrating.

2018-02-04 20:23:58 UTC

Really don't feel like trying to conquer the other ones, if it's going to be this boring.

2018-02-04 20:24:09 UTC

Can I just blow up their planets?

2018-02-04 20:24:48 UTC

@DanielKO you can wait until the next dlc or get this mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=720237457

2018-02-04 20:25:16 UTC

Gonna try to do it without mods on my first playthrough.

2018-02-04 20:49:55 UTC

This is fucking retarded, the enemy keeps jumping back and forth between two systems, before I can fly close and shoot them down.

2018-02-04 20:51:35 UTC

@DanielKO you have to play the siege game

2018-02-04 21:42:11 UTC

I think you can also make a tiny fleet to lure them near.

2018-02-04 21:42:41 UTC

can also be used to kite bigger fleets around, unless they've changed stuff since last I played

2018-02-04 21:44:10 UTC

Reminds me of a similar strategy in EU4, having a low strength regiment running around will instantly make all the AI troops salivate in a blood frenzy, and charge at your weak regiment with no regard for their own safety or health.

2018-02-04 21:50:21 UTC

Capturing planets is annoying.

2018-02-04 21:50:40 UTC

I wish I could just build a defense station there.

2018-02-04 21:51:42 UTC

yeah, it's kind of boring, and trivial at later stages. Just feels like a grind

2018-02-04 21:52:01 UTC

hopefully the new patch/dlc will do something to alleviate that boredom

2018-02-04 21:52:34 UTC

the claim system and system conquest stuff looks promising at least

2018-02-04 21:53:12 UTC

and the ability to build a defense system that isn't obsolete almost before it's built

2018-02-04 21:58:47 UTC

Yeah defense platforms suck

2018-02-04 22:01:18 UTC

totally. I've only ever really used them really early on

2018-02-04 22:01:33 UTC

build one, declare wars on neighbors as soon as you discover them

2018-02-04 22:02:06 UTC

they'll send their ships over and suicide against your starbase, because the defense platform interdicts them, and pulls them out right next to it

2018-02-04 22:02:19 UTC

then you harvest warscore until they surrender, and claim a few planets early

2018-02-04 22:02:34 UTC

haven't tried it more than once, in the latest patch though, so I don't know if it works anymore

2018-02-04 22:02:59 UTC

AI seems a bit more reluctant to attack your starbase at the beginning when they can't muster the fleet strength to take it out

2018-02-04 22:25:37 UTC

@Mal favorite ftl?

2018-02-04 22:26:10 UTC

hyperlanes

2018-02-04 22:26:15 UTC

so I don't mind the changes coming

2018-02-04 22:26:26 UTC

almost always played on that setting

2018-02-04 22:26:49 UTC

yeah

2018-02-04 22:26:54 UTC

reminds of of older 4x games

2018-02-04 22:27:06 UTC

I always found warp and wormholes to be annoying

2018-02-04 22:27:09 UTC

same

2018-02-04 22:27:17 UTC

wormholes was just another layer of micromanagement

2018-02-04 22:27:26 UTC

but the yump drives were the shit

2018-02-04 22:27:49 UTC

yeah I enjoy getting those, because they were locked behind tech

2018-02-04 22:27:58 UTC

and felt like an upgrade

2018-02-04 22:28:02 UTC

favorite weapons?

2018-02-04 22:28:04 UTC

and yeah

2018-02-04 22:28:19 UTC

always went with a mix, tachyon lances and kinetic artillery

2018-02-04 22:28:38 UTC

I remember the tachyon **Destroyers**

2018-02-04 22:28:41 UTC

lol

2018-02-04 22:28:51 UTC

back before that pesky X slot

2018-02-04 22:29:07 UTC

yep

2018-02-04 22:29:27 UTC

and battleships with auras

2018-02-04 22:29:34 UTC

oh yeha

2018-02-04 22:29:41 UTC

getting those back, iirc

2018-02-04 22:29:57 UTC

what's the best ethos combination?

2018-02-04 22:30:35 UTC

I've always found fanatic materialist + individualist to be best

2018-02-04 22:30:48 UTC

though I now prefer the assimilator bots

2018-02-04 22:30:51 UTC

lol

2018-02-04 22:31:07 UTC

research boost is just too good

2018-02-04 22:31:37 UTC

but you can make an argument for mass slavery being useful for establishing a powerful economy early

2018-02-04 22:32:00 UTC

depends on the setting. PvP is very different to a regular game vs ai

2018-02-04 22:32:15 UTC

and I find multiplayer pvp to be boring corvette spam

2018-02-04 22:32:34 UTC

I like xenophile, militarist, materialist

2018-02-04 22:32:56 UTC

I thought corvette spam was effectively removed

2018-02-04 22:33:12 UTC

I don't think it'll be gone until 2.0

2018-02-04 22:34:05 UTC

which starting planet do you prefer?

2018-02-04 22:34:27 UTC

climate wise?

2018-02-04 22:40:59 UTC

yeah

2018-02-04 22:46:59 UTC

depends. I usually go desert for roleplaying reasons when the megacorp government form could be individualist instead of authoritarian

2018-02-04 22:47:17 UTC

and be an megacorp called Omni-Tek, on a desert planet called Rubi-Ka

2018-02-04 22:47:52 UTC

for the assimilator bots, I mix it up, though I like the frozen one.

2018-02-05 00:25:07 UTC

@Reaps

This channel is fun

2018-02-05 19:56:05 UTC

really rare footage of Jango Fett shooting his own dick

2018-02-06 03:39:40 UTC
2018-02-06 03:39:56 UTC

Hunting monsters in a video game is somehow related to Trump.

2018-02-06 15:09:59 UTC

New eu4 trailer

2018-02-06 15:24:32 UTC
2018-02-06 15:50:38 UTC

Why not do it on PC and have a longer reach?

2018-02-06 15:59:34 UTC

NES games will run on PC

2018-02-06 16:00:00 UTC

They'll run on practically anything with.a screen via RetroArch

2018-02-06 16:00:38 UTC

Old consoles get maximum future compatibility. :)

2018-02-07 12:05:00 UTC

Still one of my favs

2018-02-08 07:02:12 UTC

@meratrix how do you feel about TW: 3 kingdoms?

2018-02-08 07:02:51 UTC

It's gonna be good I think, looking forward to it. I was one of the people who really wanted China

2018-02-08 07:03:33 UTC

I just hope they don't have too many irons in the forge

2018-02-08 07:05:24 UTC

I suggest watching a Chinese movie called Red Cliff, it's about the same story and is pretty good.

2018-02-08 07:07:04 UTC

Subtitles of course

2018-02-08 07:08:47 UTC

cool

2018-02-08 07:10:03 UTC

It's on Netflix

2018-02-08 07:33:21 UTC

Do they kung fu fight in the middle of a battlefield?
