what do you mean?
>goal of fascism is to produce a socialist state
>nationalize business, focus on workers rights/interests
>it's nationalist/ethnocentric so it's right wing lol
it's the same thing with National Socialism
@J Edgar What's yer channel?
National Socialism is just German Fascism
it's just that the 1% is ethnic in their eyes
Crowder did a great video comparing the economic ideas of Bernie and Adolph
Wew
I dont think the comparison is needed tbh. Bernie's arguments can and do fail on their own merits
it's interesting either way
Tbh I see left/right wing these days as a convoluted way of saying "you're not in my tribe"
I say this as someone who has been called a "libtard" and banned from a "lefty" discussion group on the same day
Just call em Marxists
i just watched the change my mind segment
dear god that first woman
police officer put her ass down
lololol
Oh man I still need to watch that shit
That Change My Mind segment was impossible to watch for me. I couldn't get through the first lady's arguments.
Totally unwatchable.
Did anyone fact check her issues with the empirical data regarding the rape statistics? She mentioned two acronyms that apparently are relevant.
And she says that rapes aren't recorded as rapes sometimes by police? I know that when I lived in South Africa that most crimes go undocumented in poor areas (which is most of the country).
@Mongo Jongo did you at least get to the part where the cop confronted the crazy lady?
I did. I had to piecemeal that video.
When she shakes his hand, "I was raped on your campus". This lady is a person who cries when she's frustrated. That's how my family is too. But mad props to Steven for treating her with respect even though she was calling him an idiot rape apologist.
I like how he drops the bomb on her 'I told you I didn't know a lot of things'
I was more disappointed in that part than anything. Debating that particular girl in the first place was a disaster. She clearly wasn't in a good emotional place to be debating anything. I don't think she could have debated the best way to store used grocery bags let alone rape culture.
I liked that he was throwing the FBI statistics on rape, and asking probing questions about how we perpetuate culture. He had basically the same conversation with the guy in the white shirt, but more productive.
Steven's at his best when he's not trying to "Gotcha!" people.
Meh
I prefer to just get it over with with the terrible people
Let everyone see how stupid you are through your own actions
I'll put effort into the ones who are polite
I wish he could have gotten through his discussion with her more quickly. He gambles on being able to change people's mind with this segment.
Like even just breaking it down into 2 questions would have helped.
Unrelated though, did anyone see his beef with Potholer?
I do agree with that
He should have stomped her quickly
Either saying we're done or letting her lose it
Potholer?
Potholer is that guy who studies Climate change.
He had a debate scheduled with Crowder that Crowder backed out on.
It's the reason why for a long time I couldn't watch Steven on anything.
I can find the video
Oh. That issue. Thatโs my one beef with Steven. He does at least deny that climate change is an issue worth addressing.
Did he give a reason for backing out?
He canโt prove it wrong, so he probably backed out for that reason.
Not gay Jared just lied and said that Potholer backed out. But the E-mails with certificate says otherwise.
So no reason then
Pretty much.
The only way I'm able to let that go is by acknowledging that Crowder is first and foremost a comedian.
He's wrong on some serious issues, but if you go for the comedy it's not so bad.
Agreed

For those interested.
@Mongo Jongo What else do you disagree with him on?
He has some really bad understanding of colonial era native Americans.
Ryan Dawson did a breakdown on that one.
But then he's also pretty pro Israel on everything, but he moves the goalpost by saying, "Well, it's better than caliphate Islam." Yeah, sticking your dick in the blender is better than Caliphate Islam. Doesn't mean you get a free pass.
And "Change my mind" is a misnomer. He has no intention of changing his mind. The whole point is to bait people into arguing on camera. Which is fine. But "Change my mind" intimates that he'd be open to changing his mind. Which, let's be real, he's not.
I did the same thing back in 2012, and looking back, it's just not a measure of good faith.
But other than that, I agree with him on most things.
I think he's open to change his mind but he picks topics that he's so dead set on it's very hard
Yeah, that's a good point.
Ok. Iโve forgotten a lot of that part of American history. I need to touch up on it. I personally still donโt exactly know what to think about Israel and Palestine.
I think he could be convinced on climate change, but only when itโs pretty obvious that fossil fuels are on their way out. Itโs still hard to imagine things running without some for of fossil fuel.
Well that and it's hard to realistically imagine everything running green
Considering the current cost of green energy
Well, wind and solar have gotten pretty cheap. Itโs just hard to see not only the entire electric grid without fossil fuels but also transportation and industry.
In the next couple of years I plan on getting an electric vehicle.
It may have gotten cheap but not cheap enough to replace the entire backbone of every first world country
Remember not only do you neeed to be cheaper than fossil fuels, but so cheap they will tear down their old grid and use yours instead
Green Energy is still pretty far off, in that it needs to become cheap to manufacture to get poor countries on board with it. And it needs to produce way more power to meet our needs. Although other energy alternatives are in the works.
Fusion and nuclear come to mind
Hey y'all! Have you ever heard any of Tony Seba's talks on EV's, solar and batteries.? Pretty interesting stuff.
Its hard to tell, but the analysts that I have seen imply that wind and solar are some of the cheapest sources and they are getting cheaper. I do think that nuclear will still need to be used too.
Really? Just the energy though
What about batteries
My problem with the climate change shit is that it's allowed people to completely ignore other issues with pollution
I believe batteries are still lagging behind
Outside of like, the occasional oil spill
Yeah. The levelized cost of energy, or LCOE, of wind and solar are fairly cheap. Natural gas is about the same. Thatโs why so much coal has been shut down.
And then also place ridiculous importance on shit that has nothing to do with any of the stuff they're talking about, or runs counter to their goals
@Clay tony seba? Whoโs that?
Stanford Uni, I think.
@Beemann have you looked at the sierra clubs beyond coal campaign?
Realistically, we are about 3-5 years off electric cars going completely mainstream.
I drive one.
What model?
used volt, would like a Tesla, but I need a house more.
Yeah. Teslaโs are too expensive. Iโd be willing to drive a bolt or something similar, even though I donโt like the look that much. I just canโt afford a new car right now. I want to though.
I'm sorry but I'm going to be one of those assholes who never gets a green car
I like my vroom vroom
And eeee eee doesn't cut it
@Holo lol. Thatโs fine. Do you own a truck? Right now, there arenโt any good ev trucks.
Nah
Sedan
I don't drive it to be green. It's just super cheap.
Super cheap, you mean after you buy it
take a look at that 180
This is an interesting talk about global warming.
Iโll lot at it later
