I think some three letter agencies actually use photorec occasionally

2018-09-19 20:15:21 UTC

or their version of it anyways

2018-09-19 20:16:05 UTC

thats what I hear anyways

2018-09-19 20:17:53 UTC

I used to work in missile defense systems I'll leave it at that

2018-09-19 20:18:54 UTC

Thank you to everyone for the congratulations and kind words on our new arrival ๐Ÿ‘ถ We are so beyond blessed to have this community; it brings me to tears to know my son is already so loved by so many. We can't wait to introduce you to him.

2018-09-19 20:20:56 UTC

We're so happy for the both of you! @missliterallywho

I'm rewatching the tunnel opening, holy shit dude

2018-09-19 20:56:55 UTC

some people are saying it's actually a representation of an old swiss myth of die teufelsbruecke

2018-09-19 20:57:05 UTC

looking into it

2018-09-19 20:58:35 UTC

People look at married men and see a level of maturity

2018-09-19 20:58:47 UTC

Generally

2018-09-19 21:03:35 UTC

Also married men go out of their way to make more money to provide for their families

2018-09-19 21:08:29 UTC

Insurance companies have studied this for decades and know what they're doing. Young, single men are much more of a liability behind the wheel of a car than young, married men.

2018-09-19 21:31:07 UTC

Who here is knowledgeable on US history?

2018-09-19 21:36:08 UTC

Thereโ€™s a lot of US History, big guy

2018-09-19 21:36:21 UTC

What sort

2018-09-19 21:36:29 UTC

I know the democrats were the real racists

SO true

2018-09-19 21:40:10 UTC

man, I've been having a weird day. full of _strange_ conversations

2018-09-19 21:46:42 UTC

quick question: i was told that there are IE servers for people of different faiths, how does one access one if one is interested?

(not meant to be controversial - Iโ€™m cool with all European faiths, just have one Iโ€™m interested in bc of my own background)

2018-09-19 21:47:42 UTC

There is a "religious server" (mostly Christians at this point), and a (unofficial) Heathen server.

2018-09-19 21:48:22 UTC

@Alex Kolchak - NY for the record it is not an official IE server because it would break rule 3, there is a "religious server" that may not follow IE rules and whose members may not all be IE (though most of them are)

2018-09-19 21:48:34 UTC

I left the religious server as it was toxic af and not helpful to the cohesion of the group imo.

2018-09-19 21:49:19 UTC

@NateDahl76 I'm trying to figure out how defensible Andrew Jackson is

2018-09-19 21:49:27 UTC

hmmm, ok. Thanks for letting me know. Iโ€™ll think about it

2018-09-19 21:49:39 UTC

I'm looking for a historical figure for one of my speeches

2018-09-19 21:50:05 UTC

@Jacob Admiral Aleksandr Kolchak

2018-09-19 21:50:36 UTC

Choose a figure that is "controversial" now (WASP preferably), but wasn't at all like 10 years ago.

2018-09-19 21:50:46 UTC

renaissance man, navy officer, anti-bolshevik fighter

2018-09-19 21:50:48 UTC

@Asatru Artist - MD that's a good one

2018-09-19 21:51:25 UTC

@Jacob Christopher Columbus ?

2018-09-19 21:52:28 UTC

I'm thinking of doing Andrew Jackson

2018-09-19 21:52:58 UTC

@Jacob he's on the 20 bro. You're fine

2018-09-19 21:53:06 UTC

Andrew Jackson is absolutely defensible, Indian tribes in Florida were notoriously violent. But you will have people asking you about the trail of tears

2018-09-19 21:54:20 UTC

Didnโ€™t an IE member do a similar presentation but entirely explicit like a year ago?

2018-09-19 22:04:49 UTC

Good stuff. ^

2018-09-19 22:04:52 UTC

What was the context for that speech?

2018-09-19 22:05:02 UTC

Was it for a class?

2018-09-19 22:08:32 UTC

My guess is as good as yours, friend. Appears to be for a class

2018-09-19 22:13:54 UTC

It was a lecture for a college class

2018-09-19 22:15:52 UTC

My speech on immigration will be explicit

2018-09-19 22:16:39 UTC

I have to write a paper on the Israel vs Arab conflict. I get to choose a side and I'm gonna go wild.

2018-09-19 22:23:44 UTC

Throw a wrench into the discussion by writing it about the Coptic Christians

2018-09-19 22:24:19 UTC

Eh not too much Coptics. I may talk about Assyrians Catholics though.

2018-09-19 22:24:47 UTC

The Coptic Orthodox Christians are the ones caught in the middle of it all and murdered by both sides.

2018-09-19 22:24:52 UTC

Coptics are only prevalent in Alexandria, Armenia and Ethiopia.

2018-09-19 22:24:59 UTC

Assyrians are the one's caught in the middle.

2018-09-19 22:25:15 UTC

A lot of them fled to Michigan a while ago because of it.

2018-09-19 22:26:04 UTC

I can assure you we protected and provided safe haven to many in Iraq while I was there. They're all over the M.E.

2018-09-19 22:26:25 UTC

@NateDahl76 dude that is almost normie friendly

2018-09-19 22:26:38 UTC

I think the title could be a little softer

2018-09-19 22:27:04 UTC

A lot of nonchristian ME's came to MI too <:teehee:381917632359563264>

2018-09-19 22:27:21 UTC

Eh, they may be a minority but if I'm not mistaken the prevalent group in Iraq is Catholics of the Assyrian rite.

2018-09-19 22:27:43 UTC

That was the group that went from 19% of Iraq's population to 3% with ISIS.

2018-09-19 22:27:58 UTC

@Trashboat Dearborn must go.

2018-09-19 22:28:47 UTC

It sure doesn't look like any other city thats for sure

2018-09-19 22:29:07 UTC

@Phillip Wiglesworth - FL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaldean_Catholics here. They're called Chaldeans. They're all over Michigan.

2018-09-19 22:30:32 UTC

*nods* We have quite a few here in Florida, too. They even opened their own church right here in my town (Tallahassee).

2018-09-19 22:30:46 UTC

(the Coptics, I mean)

2018-09-19 22:31:33 UTC

@Procella Eques yeah man itโ€™s pretty impressive

2018-09-19 22:35:31 UTC

I'm messaging it to some facebook friends

2018-09-19 22:35:44 UTC

I don't think its quite facebook post but its message worthy certainly

2018-09-19 22:42:00 UTC

Itโ€™s pretty good. Dude has solid enough optics and demeanor that the poster thought he was the professor. Glad I shared it on here

2018-09-19 23:01:53 UTC

How often do you guys buy groceries?

2018-09-19 23:02:16 UTC

I just moved into an apartment alone and I'm figuring out how to do life

2018-09-19 23:02:40 UTC

Short answer: as often as you need to

2018-09-19 23:03:30 UTC

I guess the amount of trips I make isn't particularly important as long as I stay within budget, right?

2018-09-19 23:03:43 UTC

Me? My waifu does the shopping, usually once a week if you buy a few gallons of milk or whatever you use the most

2018-09-19 23:03:54 UTC

I keep realizing I forgot to buy something

2018-09-19 23:04:21 UTC

For example, I just realized I don't have a potato masher or a strainer

2018-09-19 23:04:42 UTC

Oh, like pots, pans, and utensils?

2018-09-19 23:04:55 UTC

At least you only have to get them once

2018-09-19 23:05:21 UTC

whenever you buy something, think: do I have the stuff to make this?

2018-09-19 23:05:22 UTC

I was trying to hold off on grocery shopping until Friday but this stuff is kinda important. Yes, kitchen stuff, but if I'm gonna go make a trip I might as well do next weeks groceries.

2018-09-19 23:08:09 UTC

Potato smasher, lol. Making your own mashed potatoes?

2018-09-19 23:08:35 UTC

Well, no, because I'm on keto, but mashed cauliflower

2018-09-19 23:09:12 UTC

That's why I didn't think about getting it earlier. I bought cauliflower, but a few days later I realized you can mash it like potatoes. It's really good, I did it with a fork yesterday.

2018-09-19 23:09:39 UTC

@Jacob I go grocery shopping almost every day after work, since it's extremely convenient for me to do so (store is next to my shop), and since I'm on a motorcycle it helps me be very picky and restrictive on what I buy. I know exactly how much/what I can pack in my bags to get home, and it prevents impulse buying. I also generally stick to just getting stuff on sale (BOGO), and that's what'll be for dinner for the next night or two.

2018-09-19 23:10:13 UTC

I have a store near by, too, but it WinCo is 1 hour 30 minutes away

2018-09-19 23:10:38 UTC

The stores near me aren't particularly bad (except Safeway, which is a rip off), it's just that WinCo has both an amazing selection and amazing prices

2018-09-19 23:10:58 UTC

Motorcycle grocery shopping = cope posting irl

2018-09-19 23:11:00 UTC

lol

2018-09-19 23:11:35 UTC

Is it unreasonable for me to spend that kind of time getting to a grocery store? The prices and selection are just too great to pass up

2018-09-19 23:11:51 UTC

I love it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ They know me so well at the store, that they even know exactly how to bag my items for me now so it'll fit in my m/c bags properly.

2018-09-19 23:11:54 UTC

Normally I'd put it off until later since I have homework, but tomorrow I'm trying to get a job interview, so I definitely won't have time

2018-09-19 23:11:55 UTC

I'd say yes if you are buying for a while.

2018-09-19 23:12:04 UTC

An hour and a half away? Dude...

2018-09-19 23:12:05 UTC

Yes to what?

2018-09-19 23:12:26 UTC

But 1.5 hours is pretty crazy. Gas alone might make up any difference you saved. :-p

2018-09-19 23:12:32 UTC

An hour and a half drive to get groceries? One way?

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/481597551272001546/492110778132856872/cat_what_even_is_this.jpg

2018-09-19 23:12:43 UTC

I don't use gas, that's why it's so far ๐Ÿ˜‰

2018-09-19 23:12:48 UTC

I don't have a car

2018-09-19 23:12:56 UTC

If I had a car it wouldn't take that long

2018-09-19 23:13:02 UTC

Ah ok. Still 3 hours of your life gone though.

2018-09-19 23:13:11 UTC

Are you taking the bus?
