I mean, the same in NZ, my dad would complain about the Chinese nationals who come to NZ for the free treatment. I was one of the chinese who got a PR, but even my Dad does not want the free treatment. Id be lying if I said I didnt feel the same.

Up to 45,000 people a year in the US die from a lack of healthcare, according to a 2009 study.
Do you know what that number is in Canada? 0.
The number in France? 0.
The number in the UK? 0.

2018-01-10 08:19:22 UTC

The list goes on.

2018-01-10 08:19:58 UTC

And that is in 2009. I don't know what the number is today. Could be higher, could be lower.

2018-01-10 08:20:00 UTC

How much of that can be blamed on the government's management of healthcare

2018-01-10 08:20:25 UTC

As it is right now the government doesn't manage any of it, to my knowledge. Our healthcare is privatized.

2018-01-10 08:20:45 UTC

and compare the size diffferences in those countries vs the US

2018-01-10 08:20:49 UTC

Hmm reminds me of that writer actually

2018-01-10 08:20:57 UTC

You guys heard of ahh fuck

2018-01-10 08:21:02 UTC

Sirname was Cook

2018-01-10 08:21:21 UTC

cant remember his first name, but it was like John or James, criminal thriller writer

2018-01-10 08:21:36 UTC

Was a doctor so most of his writings were based on conspiracies around the US medical system

2018-01-10 08:21:37 UTC

I tihnk it was james Cook

2018-01-10 08:21:45 UTC

The population as a whole shouldn't matter, since a bigger population would -in theory- give a proportionate amount in taxes. The issue here is people on welfare/jobless, and illegals who avoid paying taxes.

2018-01-10 08:21:47 UTC

I mean I remember enjoying his books.

2018-01-10 08:22:03 UTC

People who avoid taxes yet still benefit from the system.

2018-01-10 08:23:00 UTC

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the number was higher in the US than in other countries, but that's a failure in enforcing tax codes and from deductions/subsidies.

2018-01-10 08:23:04 UTC

if anything the US should go to a One-Tax system where the only tax is sales tax on non-consumables

2018-01-10 08:23:13 UTC

then there is no way to avoid taxes

2018-01-10 08:23:43 UTC

and I mean tax non-food items

2018-01-10 08:24:03 UTC

I mean, I didnt want to buy into the hysterian, like when everythings so shit, that you have the delusion that anythign could be better.

2018-01-10 08:24:03 UTC

you have to tax everything, or else you loose more than you gain

2018-01-10 08:24:05 UTC

Well, there's also the fact that the US can most definitely be spending it's tax dollars better, no argument here.

2018-01-10 08:24:16 UTC

We have over 800 military bases around the world, for example.

2018-01-10 08:24:22 UTC

We don't need that many.

2018-01-10 08:24:24 UTC

And well, that there are alot of inefficiencies in the system

2018-01-10 08:24:41 UTC

how many times does your money get taxed?

2018-01-10 08:24:45 UTC

The wall is one such solution

2018-01-10 08:24:53 UTC

Several.

2018-01-10 08:24:56 UTC

I am pro-wall

2018-01-10 08:25:15 UTC

Taxes are taken out on income, and every time you buy/sell an item.

2018-01-10 08:25:17 UTC

Well, being here makes you altright lol

2018-01-10 08:25:19 UTC

why tax a dollar several times? instead charge it once and be done

2018-01-10 08:25:25 UTC

here, we pay 13 cents on every dollar spent, and we have income tax taken off that we get back later

2018-01-10 08:25:44 UTC

I heard that you pay an amount and they decide to tell you later whether or not you paid enough

2018-01-10 08:25:47 UTC

in the Us

2018-01-10 08:25:48 UTC

but we have taxes on everything except for fresh food items

2018-01-10 08:25:50 UTC

is it that bad?

2018-01-10 08:26:34 UTC

you don't get charged taxes for fresh fruits, veggies, meats, and other basics

2018-01-10 08:26:47 UTC

I'm really not too familiar with our tax system, myself. Sometimes you overpay and get more money back, sometimes you get a phone call from the IRS telling you that you owe them 5000 dollars.

2018-01-10 08:26:56 UTC

in the US it depends on the state

2018-01-10 08:27:06 UTC

State plays a part, yeah.

2018-01-10 08:27:18 UTC

So different tax brackets per state?

2018-01-10 08:27:27 UTC

I assumed the US had the same in every state?

2018-01-10 08:27:33 UTC

abd if you don't pay enough they send you to jail till you pay it off

2018-01-10 08:27:39 UTC

Like with that new tax plan.

2018-01-10 08:27:53 UTC

Like, food items altogether are not taxed in California, whereas in Georgia only *fresh* food items are not taxes, if I remember correctly. Even if I am not, it's along those lines.

2018-01-10 08:27:56 UTC

I assumed it will be implemented in every state

2018-01-10 08:27:57 UTC

there is a federal tax nation wide then there is a state level then a city level

2018-01-10 08:28:02 UTC

Ah I see

2018-01-10 08:28:28 UTC

I'm not too familiar with th enew tax plan, either. lol

2018-01-10 08:28:28 UTC

How the fuck man. So the average man for example. Of the money he recieves, how much of it goes to the govt?

2018-01-10 08:28:30 UTC

so why tax our money so much?

2018-01-10 08:28:45 UTC

Dunno really, I only heard good things of the new plan

2018-01-10 08:28:53 UTC

about 30-40% by the end of the year

2018-01-10 08:28:56 UTC

But then I already said I listen to more conservative sources

2018-01-10 08:29:03 UTC

Well, it doesn't seem like a lot at face value, but if you actually add it all up some people can get taxed as high as about... I think 45%?

2018-01-10 08:29:22 UTC

Thats almost european level of taxes.

2018-01-10 08:29:35 UTC

With none of the benefits. lol

2018-01-10 08:29:36 UTC

if you own property it is worse than renting

2018-01-10 08:29:49 UTC

I mean, they should probably treat the govt like a buisness, if you want people to willingly give you money, provide a better service.

2018-01-10 08:29:51 UTC

and a 20t debt

2018-01-10 08:30:08 UTC

Instead of forcing everyone to pay the higher taxes.

2018-01-10 08:30:24 UTC

And giving tax reductions to the wealthy.

2018-01-10 08:30:42 UTC

that is why I say a one sales tax... no income tax no property tax... simple math

2018-01-10 08:30:51 UTC

Which sounds good on paper, but it requires us to just "trust" that the companies/corporations will use that money to actually provide jobs instead of just pocketing it.

2018-01-10 08:31:12 UTC

I mean, penalizing companies for going overseas was kinda one step

2018-01-10 08:31:18 UTC

the tax deductions are about the same accross the board

2018-01-10 08:31:23 UTC

Or providing incentives to those who stay

2018-01-10 08:31:27 UTC

And if you trust the wealthy to not just pocket the money, you have far more faith in them than I do lol.

2018-01-10 08:31:43 UTC

Well... I am from a wealthy family here so I kinda do.

2018-01-10 08:31:48 UTC

rich don't become rich by hoarding

2018-01-10 08:32:03 UTC

I know, it's through investing.

2018-01-10 08:32:08 UTC

they become rich by investing and keeping the money fresh

2018-01-10 08:32:11 UTC

And i can say, they just happened to work really hard and invested intelligently.

2018-01-10 08:32:23 UTC

Maybe its the perspective some people have of the rich?

2018-01-10 08:32:30 UTC

yes

2018-01-10 08:32:34 UTC

Like of the people in the US, which side hates the rich more?

2018-01-10 08:32:43 UTC

Do you respect them or do you envy them

2018-01-10 08:32:57 UTC

the entitled people hate the rich because they want it for themselves

2018-01-10 08:33:00 UTC

That sort of thing

2018-01-10 08:33:01 UTC

I didn't mean to come off as "the rich are the sources of all of our problems!" kind of person. I am just saying that I don't trust companies any more than I trust the government.

2018-01-10 08:33:06 UTC

all profit for no work

2018-01-10 08:33:13 UTC

you really can't hate the rich, they work hard and then work even harder to understand what to invest in, you have to be smart to gain that kind of money

2018-01-10 08:33:19 UTC

No you didnt, but I wanted to know if some policies were based off that

2018-01-10 08:33:20 UTC

I agree jaden

2018-01-10 08:33:28 UTC

I mean that happened in Ukraine

2018-01-10 08:33:34 UTC

look at how many celebrities have millions while in their prime, only to die in massive debt

2018-01-10 08:33:36 UTC

when they blamed all the ills on the farmers.

2018-01-10 08:34:21 UTC

blaim is equal imo the hoarders are the ones you have to worry about

2018-01-10 08:34:43 UTC

if they are good people you will know by how they treat the people under them

2018-01-10 08:36:04 UTC

@JadenFrostwolf do you think the rich deserve a tax break also?

2018-01-10 08:36:22 UTC

I mean, there are the borgoeise rich and then theres the hard workers

2018-01-10 08:36:32 UTC

I don't know.

2018-01-10 08:36:49 UTC

Many of the wealthy were already getting plenty in subsidies and deductions.

2018-01-10 08:37:00 UTC

https://youtu.be/c1E4sQzEcR8 White House Uses Beer Drinking Story To Explain Tax Cuts

2018-01-10 08:37:01 UTC

Dunno as well, but if there would be a tax cut, id probably do a company wide tax cut, of which there are already pleanty

2018-01-10 08:37:27 UTC

If everyone else is as well, I don't see why not.

2018-01-10 08:37:27 UTC

The only other cut you could do that would benefit everyone is an income tax cut
