Q: Why is abc happening?] (I wish we could make paragraphs in these posts.) If I'm correct, then this is to get us to think through things and their interconnections. I've noticed a striking lack of ability for people to think systematically. We've had 3 generations in the US of people shunning math and unable to understand their own first language. (It's not just grammar, but SYNTAX. Have you heard people say, "for all intensive purposes"? They're putting bad sound-alike words on a phrase they don't understand, "for all intents and purposes." This is done to sound forceful or intelligent, but shows you're an idiot when you mung it up. Another example is, "based off of," versus the logical & proper, "based on." You have a basis.
