nazism does, but Facism can survive without it

2018-11-02 22:17:24 UTC

Those are all free. All of them are old enough that you can get free copies of them.

2018-11-02 22:17:29 UTC

@Undead Mockingbird What? Heinlein was libertarian

2018-11-02 22:17:35 UTC

Fascism isn't really wasn't started by Nazis.

2018-11-02 22:17:44 UTC

Just Nazis just happen to be facsists.

2018-11-02 22:17:48 UTC

2018-11-02 22:17:50 UTC

Nazi's were socialists

2018-11-02 22:17:54 UTC

Yes, but many interpreted his militarism as fascism.

2018-11-02 22:17:56 UTC

Was it in Italia that it started?

2018-11-02 22:18:02 UTC

Not saying they are right. They are very wrong.

2018-11-02 22:18:06 UTC

I thought they were original socialist, they morphed into fascism.

2018-11-02 22:18:12 UTC

But then again, people thought communism works - so, hey.

2018-11-02 22:18:24 UTC

considering how they dealt with economic inequality, they weren't fascist at all

2018-11-02 22:18:39 UTC

they were pure socialists

2018-11-02 22:18:40 UTC

Nazi stands for national socialists, Nazism is a form fascism, with Mussolini being the one to come up with the term fascism, which comes from the italian word for a bundle of rods.

2018-11-02 22:18:51 UTC

Mussolini didn't come up with fascism

2018-11-02 22:18:53 UTC

I see.

2018-11-02 22:19:00 UTC

it WAS the italians though who did

2018-11-02 22:19:21 UTC

Fascism is socialist.

2018-11-02 22:19:35 UTC

doesn't have to be actually

2018-11-02 22:19:37 UTC

Well I do only use bundle of rods analog for corporation.

2018-11-02 22:19:40 UTC

A form of socialism

2018-11-02 22:19:44 UTC

But not for a society.

2018-11-02 22:19:52 UTC

Yeah, it has roots as a counter-Enlightenment movement with the Jacobins in the 19th century, but I would argue Mussolini was the one who really characterized the ideology.

2018-11-02 22:20:00 UTC

Is it the case that the ideology that we now call fascism was given that name after it was already in use? Or are the Italians the first to use it?

2018-11-02 22:20:05 UTC

Fascism is just that you have a body of the state that can instantly gain absolute authority over life and death of everything in the state.

The moment a crisis is declared

2018-11-02 22:20:40 UTC

Quick question... me talking about bundle of sticks or rods for cooperation towards a common goal a good analog?

2018-11-02 22:20:54 UTC

Not as society standpoint... but as a community standpoint.

2018-11-02 22:21:00 UTC

Small group working together towards common goal.

2018-11-02 22:21:01 UTC

That is the common depiction of fascism, yes.

2018-11-02 22:21:04 UTC

I think the term socialism has been watered down too much.

2018-11-02 22:21:13 UTC

I am using water term of it...

2018-11-02 22:21:21 UTC

We should go by what people like Hayek mean tby it.

2018-11-02 22:21:22 UTC

Thank people like Bernie Sanders for muddling it.

2018-11-02 22:21:35 UTC
