It's just about striking a common interest with someone, when I was on the LARP, I almost never talked to people my age, just like 25-35 dudes that are way older than me. I debated some physics stuff with them and it was really fun. If you've got a good understanding of something and you talk about it for a bit, someone that also understands the topic might ring in and debate it with you. Please just don't talk about politics

@SheepTeeth Guys don't reject women often, but if it does happen: don't beat yourself up over it. Just go back to work like it never happened. I asked out a co-worker before they were going to leave for a different job. I got turned down, said fair enough, left it at that. Things were weird for a little bit, but were fine before they left. Wound up coming back to work for us a couple years later. Everything is fine, no weirdness from either of us.

You'll find that sometimes when something gets stuck in your head: all you really want is an answer, either way, because it gets you out of that place. It sucks to get stuck there, so it's really best to just rip the band-aid off and be done with it. It will get a little weird for a minute, sure, but having to deal with that a little bit is good life practice anyway. Gets you better at having uncomfortable conversations.
