@Rockets my parents had me diagnosed with aspergers back then... of course, they saught out the psychiatrist that agreed with them so take that with a mountain of salt, espacialy as later pschologists and such disagreed
Computer Science?
Engineer?
Yes
Awesome. I used to go to 2 year college for it but things when downhill.
I'm trying to get out of being unemployed.
it's probably like, I don't define myself as any ONE thing you know? I read philosophy when I was young, and remember defining myself as a Stoic, vs hedonist, but I've become something else in my old age that the old definitions might help understand, but not completely. After youve crossed some lines and boundaries, I feel like there's just even more boundaries to break
@Dango_chan HHH was computer science but now he's teaching.
Job market is shit in Detroi.t
i think it was just high intelligence (psychologists did take an IQ test on me, all that ican say, i dont know what my IQ is, but its to high to be measured by the standart test which only goes up to 130) plus depression.
@Redneo screw psychiatrists on most counts, unless you think you want to be a lab rat for fun, stick with good old fresh air, diet, exercise etc. They tried to give me Prozac after I told them I had just given up MJ, I was like you guys are f'n quacks!
@Rockets do you agree project-work is the best for proving to employers you rock?
and im actualy gald to have suffered (well, i still am to a degree, its recoursive, but... i can deal now) clinical depression. Cause, guess what, once youve been through that, there is nothing that will throw you of
@Rockets well psychiatrists are actualy okay. Psychologists and social workers, now THEY are terrible
@machtyn absolutely, anything you can SHOW them, actual web services, apps, whatever. It's good to be able to answer technical questions with technical speak too
@Rockets and there is a BIG differenece between psychology and psychiatry. Psychology is mental, psychiatry is physical
@Rockets yeah i got the technical speak down but i honestly plan on just applying to a bunch of jobs every 1-2 years just to stay sharp in interviewing and what the industry is looking for
and my clinical depression was NOT a mental illness at all. its physical
anyone successfully quit caffeine? i am on day 1 and have an insane headache and super sleepy
@machtyn interviewing is great experience, anytime I switched companies I would interview with 5 or so in the same time-span
need to make sure i'm on the top of my game
Caffeine is my lord
but some instituions i visited for at ime supposed to help with such stuff, yeah, you were actualy talking to social workers reporting to psychiatrists.
and if i took her seriously, i would be dead now.
@Kazemaru i drank way too much lol so that is why i am just quitting
don't hop too much though unless the place is just really bad, stick around until you feel your ready for bigger challenges
@Rockets yeah no i try to stay with one company for at least 3 years
like, she absolutly denied the physical
BEAUTIFUL!
every 3-5 years i bounce and try to make states too
Many people in the area of psychology give me the vibe of being mind-body-dualists
One of this days I must give a break to my lord too. Someday... But not today!
And in fact i specificly asked this one
and she confirmed to me
that she believes
If someones personality changes after having a metal rod rammed through his brain, thats purely due to psychological trauma, nothing to do with braindamage
@Redneo dealing with depression is an art, I think the most under utilized thing would be imagination, and pace, change the rythm of your day, and change the focus of your mind, keep the good memories close to your soul if you have them/one
Yeah, they let THOSE people treat the crazies
