Hello everyone!

Thank you!

I really want to thank this community. I've learned so much from the ideas of MGTOW and Red Pill.

I view him as a brother I never had as I was abused and he helped me immensely but now I see him broken and he won't let me help. That alone wants to make me leave.

I've tried to help him the past few years but it's gotten worse and I end up sounding like a nagging wife.

I could easily afford living alone ($5k extra per year to live alone - $15k annual expenses total).

I think he's become that way but it makes no sense. He's been a top performing athlete, went to college for it, and is very intelligent. He's making excellent money but he has oneitis for a lady and is always drunk or high. He's been pulled over for being drunk twice now.

I've been trying.

I only discovered mgtow/rp 5 months ago.

yes it is so valuable

yes that is another fear

any suggestions?

oh i've done that and got him to read a little of the rationale male

i got the feminist lie too

@Andrew The Meme King i plan on leaving in jan 2019

they're awesome

@Happy Humble Hermit Amazing video yesterday.

Hey guys!

@Happy Humble Hermit If you worked a job that was $65-$70k, saved at least 55% of your income every year to invest it, you had no debt, owned your car, and lived 3 mins from work - would you spend $1,250/mo on a luxury apartment (the average rent in this area is $800-900/mo) or a nice car?

The past few years I've saved a lot of income (I aim for 60-75% of my income) and invested it. Thing is, I've always lived with other people (including female roommates) and ever since discovering the red pill and mgtow I want to just live alone. I wanted to pay a little extra for 1 year just to see how it would feel to splurge a little on myself. I know this absolutely a luxury and a pretty dumb one at that (100% depreciation from renting, especially a luxury apartment) but I still *want* it, at least for a year. I currently rent a $400/mo bedroom in a shared house with a few other young professionals and try to follow Musashi's "Be indifferent to where you live" rule but the idea of living high on the hog and ALONE seems so nice right now. What's your take?

@Happy Humble Hermit Is it ever okay to completely ghost family? I was abused by my mother and ignored by my blue pill father (too busy working). I want nothing to do with my mom or sister. I think I would feel guilt for the first year or two but overall would feel less drained as I would never have to interact with them again.

@Happy Humble Hermit Can you delineate the phases of MGTOW a bit deeper? I am past anger but I think I am still stuck in that malaise your latest video spoke about. I don't feel motivated to get my 6-8 pack back or code on side projects and I am not sure if it is my own laziness/contentedness or still apathy from not NEEDING to have those ambitions. I find myself even losing interest in video games! Which is terrifying!

Please do!

I don't really have an excuse because I discovered mgtow/red pill about a year ago but I still find myself in this "why should I" mindset... the answer should be "because I want to" but really... I have become so lazy.

I grew up watching Elliot Rodgers (at 15-16 years old) because I love working out. I read Bold and Determined and other red pill / PUA type stuff.

I just feel lost still, kinda.

I will!

Does anyone here work in the medical field in engineering, IT or patient care? I've worked in technology for the past 5 years (since I graduated at 19). Outside of programming (3 years in automotive and 2 in finance), the only other career I could see myself in is being a doctor or biomedical engineer. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

@Seven Of Swords What would you suggest?

@Seven Of Swords I don't have a closed mind or any specific "route." I am here to learn!

True, there is a lot of nuance within developing yourself. I guess it's more "these things worked for me and since we're the same species it might help you too." Even that is valuable.

@the adventures male I only view porn/masturbation as cleaning the pipes. I don't watch hardcore porn - only weird softcore shit. It's weird and probably it's own fetish but I don't need much to get going. I actually prefer my imagination. Anyways, I did go down that route of NoFap but I only PMO 3-4 times a week.

@Seven Of Swords I totally see your point. I think being okay with yourself is the most important. I do find I need some physical activity every day since I work behind a keyboard.

I think the basics: sleep 7.5-9 hours at consistent fall/wake times, drink x amount of water, eat vegetables/healthy fats, exercise at least 3 hours a week, lift heavy things, learn something new every day or otherwise challenge yourself; are all good basics. I do agree it can get out of hand and become silly or a parody of itself.

@Goro Majima How is CA/west coast? I plan on living out there depending on job availability. I work in technology.

@ZODD Yeah, I noticed that vibe but honestly I might be better in that space.

I am 24.

@Goro Majima Your general impression on all factors you want to discuss.

I never lived there but it is obviously the epicenter to liberal/progressive politics/ideology since it's a very creative space.

I plan on moving there but never discussing politics, religion or personal finance ๐Ÿ˜„

What other tips for living?

I am more east-coast/midwest blunt in my communication. Should I be more chill?

Yeah, it really depends because I've heard HUGE disparities. I had one buddy who was an OK engineer land a $150k job and only had to spend $20k to live but another friend (AMAZING engineer) is making $80k and paying $30-40k to live.

Trigger as in microaggression trigger?

What's the average rent for a 1BR1BA in your experience around the major cities? I know they're vastly different. San Diego being the most expensive, right? Why is that?

@Goro Majima Do you think the politics are the way they are on West Coast because of the huge wealth accumulated due to technology or are there other reasons?

@Goro Majima @Leather Collector I just want to make $85-100k by age 26 in technology in engineering.

If that is in the midwest, east, south or west... I don't care.

@shadowlessnexus I agree on the car. I bought a 5 year old car with 30k miles and it will last me until 2030 or longer with the way I drive it. I appreciate your perspective on housing. I do spend 40-50 hours in my current living situation but 10 of that is eaten up by female roommates wanting to gossip, help them or other nonsense. The luxury (1300/mo) apartment may not be what I go with but I will definitely move out and pay more than $400/mo for peace and quiet! I don't know why I want a NICE PLACE compared to just a place. I did work hard to get where I am now. Thanks!

Oh dude, I grew up in Midwest and live here now. I wasn't trying to debate with you. I agree! I definitely will buy a house out here once I have 1-2 million invested.

I am looking to build career capital for 5-10 years, find a niche, become an expert, then find a remote gig. Once I can easily do that; I'll buy a nice house or build my own.

Yes!

I want to buy a nice plot of land and just build a basic ranch single floor house with a garage for 1 car and a gym (barbells, concept2 rower, etc).

I need good internet though ๐Ÿ˜„

GAMING IS LIFE!

Yes!

@Flushtater I found it. Watching now.

I was abused so I really want to just ghost.

Even if I wasn't, I feel it should be okay.

Why can't you leave?

Ah.

Interesting... I think I am in this situation.

@Flushtater I feel they would hunt me down too. I will probably ghost once I move for a new job!

@Flushtater Yeah, for a nice place it will be 850-1,150/mo -- I'll go for it!

Did everyone see the latest pewdiepie video - the spiderman easter egg cringe?

It's amazing and red pill ๐Ÿ˜„

@Hmpoy Yeah man!

@Happy Humble Hermit It's phenomenal. Also, thank you for your answers. I will hold off on the luxury as I too am frugal/minimalistic. I just need a vacation, I think. haha

Yeah, that sounds way better!

Brazil sounds fun too!

@Happy Humble Hermit Jesus that indian chick has blown up.

Like she's become SO FAT.

"Look, itโ€™s not that hard. All you need to do is lift weights six days a week, stop drinking alcohol, donโ€™t eat anything after 7pm, donโ€™t eat any carbs or sugar at all, in fact just donโ€™t eat anything you like, get the personal trainer from Magic Mike, sleep nine hours a night, run three miles a day, and have a studio pay for the whole thing over a six to seven month span. I donโ€™t know why everyoneโ€™s not doing this. Itโ€™s a super realistic lifestyle and an appropriate body image to compare oneself to. #hollywood" I like that, lol.

weight ๐Ÿ˜„

Who else is excited for Cyberpunk 2077?!

Doubt it.

Sadly, most games don't due to GPU driver support is shit.

I use Debian, Arch or CentOS for everything but a locked down Windows 10 LTSB for gaming alone.

Yeah

I used to be obsessed with OS tweaking and all that but now that I've worked in corporate america for 4+ years... it's all fucking Windows.

I vCenter console into machines for initial setup but then just ssh in from my windows machine lol

I wish I was as strong as you.

However, doesn't Civ 6 work well on Linux

What is your setup?

Flavor/DE/etc

Oh wow you have a 1080

What do you use that for?

I have a 1060 and feel it is overkill ๐Ÿ˜„

True but that is still A LOT of gpu.

Do you work in tech?

Industrial automation? in what industry?

Oh sick!

That's awesome.

All embedded stuff, so no reason you're a linux fan ๐Ÿ˜„

Yeah, it's annoying but sadly most embedded systems are proprietary.

It's the nature of the beast.

People don't collaborate as much with embedded - it's harder than say web apps
