I dont tend to spend more than at most 20$ on a game anyways.
Like, i can wait a couple months or years till the game of the year edition is 75% off
if i buy any AAA game , that is. I tend to prefer indie games, often in early access. Sure, i dont buy em if they arent worth it as they are but i enjoy coming back every couple months to new content and improvements
Hes not wrong. No mammal lives forever.
Same. Big titles in general i dont buy before pirating to see if it even works on my rig.
Well, yes. White nationalists and the black panthers do work together
And, sure... of course that also had some influence on evolution. Agriculture in africa isnt really promising
so, delayed gratification wasnt a psychological trait that was as advantagous to evolve as it was to europeans...
europeans are superior to the condition in europe and africans are superior in the conditions of africa though ๐
but thats what youd expect...you know, evolution.
True. THough some form of determinism does determine all
The causes arent really relevant to that. I never kept slaves. Welll...

Like, we would sing "10 kleine negerlein" (there is an anglicised version called "10 little niggers") without anyone seeing any racist implications in my childhood
and while i myself probably speak more english than german, the general teaching of english made us suceptible to influences of that nature from the anglosphere, too... My sister is like a total intersectional whateverist now
Even so callled antifeminists such as milo yianoppolous who was banned from the saudi owned plattform of twitter for offending a woman in all seriousness claimed there is misogyny in sharia
I dont believe the human species is or ever has been capable of forming a misogynistic society. Its just not how our psychology works.
yeah. And since it takes a lot less men than women to maintain a population in terms of reproduction, it sure was evolutionarily advantagous to sacrifice men over women.
@RanStairs Ah, lets talk sharia then. They genitaly mutilate girls? Guess what, they genitaly mutilate boys, too. They stone women for adultery? Guess what, they stone men for adultery more. Some of those were actualy victims of rape becouse a man can rape a woman and its not considered rape unless X, Y or Z? Guess what, women can rape men and boys and the men or boys will allways be stoned if someone finds out becouse thats not considered rape under any circumstance. Women cant leave the house without a male guardian, espacialy if there is a war going on? Guess what, men cant stay in the house, espacialy if there is a war going on. And, by the way, muslim men oppose FGM in higher numbers than muslim women do and its typicly mothers in both cases (FGM and MGM) that make that decission. Perheps you noticed as soon as a notable amount of women wanted to drive, it was made possible in saudi arabia. A man is legaly required to provide for his wife, mothers and sisters, and that includes paying her taxes if she earns money. Now, if after your and her taxes you cant feed your family anymore, she is not required to use any of her income to feed the children and if they starve, you are responsible. She can do with her money what she wants or just save it and you are required to provide for her... Do i need to go on?
@RanStairs As evident by the example i gave about driving, its not who you think it is.
@RanStairs the same happened in the US when women decided theyd prefer men wouldnt drink alcohol... Women have an immense power over men.
Im not saying its just women. The way it works is that a woman says that black guy got away with rape but the lynching is primarily done by men
Btw, im not saying thats allways a negative thing. I was adressing misogyny hence why it was mostly things i can agree with as negative. But there were of course instances such as Mother Jones.
Well they do so through social means, pretty much everyone prefers women. Weve had studies looking at ingroup bias in the sexes and both sexes have a bias in favour of women. On average, of course there are a few individual misogynists
As for arranged marriages, i dont think its as common throughout the muslim world as you make it out to be. I think it was in iran where women make up the majority in university in stem fields - they dont tend to do that in order to work in the field but rather to be able to negotiate a more advantagous marriage contract
Well, i have two healthy hands. And while i come from a hippie family and all and dont deviate all that much from that, Pence is right.
Well, not about HAVING a wife in the first place.
Jesus advised against marriage, too. And plato. Now, plato didnt actualy say it would be nonsexual in nature, he just claimed that true love could only exist among men.
The other way around. He advised against it but that if you fucked you should get married.
i may have been thinking about corinthians which isnt jesus talking.
1st corinthians 7:8 "Now to the unmarrieda and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do." 7:27Are you pledged to a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are you free from such a commitment? Do not look for a wife. 28But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.
Id advise to start migrating away from corporate social media (including gab) tbh. Not like there arent superior alternatives.
Steem is a blockchain for (text based, but thats easily compatible with decentralised or in some cases centralised filehosting) social media. Completly uncensorable and anyone can built plattforms around it. Video plattforms around it do exist, too. And its more profitable to many creators than youtube ads are - and without ads.
Cryptocurrency is generated for your posts based on the likes your content (including comments) receives within 7 days of posting. These currencies have an actual built in utility, not purely valuable for trade.
@Deleted User What do you mean by "even" the tech guys?
Of course we are the first to leave for a better system.
I dont think they can ruin what we built now. Even the creator cant delete his own content where i am now.
Much less a government, a court, or a private company.
@Deleted User thats just IPFS. tbh, you dont need dtube to host a video in the IPFS network
@Deleted User the problem with dtube is that it requires some amount of techsavyness and an own server (or rather, IPFS node, which can be a simple raspberry pi, of course), id view that as a backup to dlive. Becouse, both is powered by steem anyways and if someone follows you hes going to see if you reupload it via IPFS and post that to your steem timeline as well.
@Nicklii the video you tried probably simply wasnt hosted in the IPFS network anymore. If the creator doesnt pin it on his own server it wont be online for long
if it was more than 7 days old its likely to not still be online.
Hence why im saying its a good fallback point if your video is deleted from dlive, but youll have to set up your own server to fall back to IPFS.
I did test dtube for a while hosting some videos, worked great - with a raspberry pi as IPFS node. But i see it primarily as a point to fall back too in case dlive ever deletes any content which thus far they havent done a lot of,a few legitimate copyright claims i think was about all
since dlive is more accessible to the average user.
A raspberry pi running on 5 Watts at most is sufficient for all of that
@Nicklii its another videoplattform built around steem
now i keep mine for 5 days i think at a time, in many cases its changed every day at least and on every restart of the router.
I have a small shared hosting package for mail and potentialy hosting small files/scripts, blockchain which even i cant delete my posts from(nor anyone else)for social media posts in combination with IPFS or other services for larger content.
Seems good to me, of course if someone actualy posts something illegal the courts will have a real challenge as removal of illegal content from a blockchain is not possible no matter how many courts decide the content is illegal
But then again, i heard some researchers found very low res cheesepizza in some bitcoin transaction memos encoded into text... Well deal with such threats when it comes to it
Yes. Simply selfhosting can still be attacked either via DDoS or of course someone could physicly take my hardware.
@Sjeeke the segment is still listed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_VVlJrChWQ
For someone whos favourite (or at least most cited book) is "To kill a mockingbird" jimmy does keep strange company ๐
Allways annoys me when players say "let me roll X" - not just for persuasion
@Schedrevka but rolling is not something they do is my point
What im speaking of is not neccessarily limited to persuasion. I also hear people say "can i roll perception?" - that doesnt make any sense. Saying "i keep an eye on the door" does and if there is something to notice you may fail to notice the GM will tell you to roll.
"You notice your right shoelace is longer than your left shoelace" - and if its a low roll "while running into a telephone poll, take 1 damage" ๐
Which admitedly in some systems are way to common
I grew up on Das Schwarze Auge. A skill check there consisted of 3 rolls on attributes and in total you could roll X amount above the attributes (or had to roll X amount in total below them) based on your skill + modifiers. D20. as soon as you have TWO ones or twenties at least you got to go into crit teritory.
