I believe in equal access to opportunity, we have achieved that in the usa
or egalitarians that believe everyone is equal but don't want to enforce mandated equality of outcome
@everybodydothatdinosaur some humans are more valuable than others, there are worse humans and better humans, dumber and smarter, stronger and weaker
American culture or ideology, whatever you want to call it, is based off of the idea that people are all equal and have certain immutable rights
I even believe in helping people who are in bad situations, even though that's not really promoting egalatarianism, even if in some way it's their fault. But of course the left goes off the wall bonkers
@TeeTotaler this was not always the case
@Brue. Subjectively, yes
equality is not a marxist concept, nor was it really
obviously the term "equal" applies very broadly
even in marxism, he says each according to his need and ability
@everybodydothatdinosaur. Right
this isn't really assuming everyone is the same, although ultimately it does lead to this essentially
that is everyone becomes interchangeable cogs, calling each other comrade, instead of sir and madam
@TeeTotaler go read tge 1760 immigration act
only free whites
I mean equality of access. No making black people stay off the internet
no men or woman, only comrades! sounds like a liberal paradise alright
NO PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ME AND WOMAN, lol
everyone is an interchangeable cog
not surprising the modern left takes to communism so quickly
@TeeTotaler im trying to have a conversation with you since no one else is actually conversing here, they are all circle jerking their own ideas
oh man plz no
I just use the term liberal and left interchangeably as the defintions are vague and amorphous anyways
constantly shifting
Liberals have core principles unlike the left
state mandated equality of outcome is different from egalitarian views of human being equal in inherent value
I think the problem is that the context of "equal" has changed. Clearly they weren't speaking of equal pay or equal dick length. If I had to state it I would probably say it would be a more anarchist sentiment like "there is no hierarchy of authority" when they speak about the term "equal". There are probably better ways to say it but i am small brain
@everybodydothatdinosaur eight
eight principles o.o
@TeeTotaler of course
There are two main ideas if equal in use in modern politics. Equality=equality of opportunity and Equity=equality of outcome
I focus on the former. We have achieved that
mhmm
This is more or less the case
The right tends to go with equality of oppurtunity
Yes
But we all already have equality of outcome, we all die. Trying to guarantee any other outcome is ridiculous, it isn't possible.
The socialists want the latter
there will NEVER be equal opportunity
I have equal opportunity to you. Prove I don't. @Brue
