Liberals aren't the lefties
@TeeTotaler im trying to have a conversation with you since no one else is actually conversing here, they are all circle jerking their own ideas
oh man plz no
I just use the term liberal and left interchangeably as the defintions are vague and amorphous anyways
constantly shifting
Liberals have core principles unlike the left
state mandated equality of outcome is different from egalitarian views of human being equal in inherent value
I think the problem is that the context of "equal" has changed. Clearly they weren't speaking of equal pay or equal dick length. If I had to state it I would probably say it would be a more anarchist sentiment like "there is no hierarchy of authority" when they speak about the term "equal". There are probably better ways to say it but i am small brain
@everybodydothatdinosaur eight
eight principles o.o
@TeeTotaler of course
There are two main ideas if equal in use in modern politics. Equality=equality of opportunity and Equity=equality of outcome
I focus on the former. We have achieved that
mhmm
This is more or less the case
The right tends to go with equality of oppurtunity
Yes
But we all already have equality of outcome, we all die. Trying to guarantee any other outcome is ridiculous, it isn't possible.
The socialists want the latter
there will NEVER be equal opportunity
equal oppurtunity in law essentially
like the factual nature of reality may not be exactly equal per se
So, more for equal opportunity in a business sense that is implemented via law
don't we already have this?
No one is blocking my internet based on my class, gender, or race
China, lol
@SuperHeroDeluxe i have wealth, power and the ability to influence outside of availability to find information online, i had better teachers ect
you will never have the connections i have
How do you know you had better teachers? 10% better than mine?
20% better teachers?
Lol
I think the most important quantifying factor of a "successful" life is happiness
do not frame it in quantitative measures, that is going to lead you astray @SuperHeroDeluxe
even if you're out there making the big bucks driving the new cyber truck, miserable is miserable
It's subjective. Of course
framing it like that is off
honestly I would frame it in time, poorer educators cost you more time as you have to spend more time learning on your own
essentially poor education puts you "behind the curve"
but most do not educate themselves past highschool
so you have plenty of time
