I don't think what Trump said is even racist
He said go to another country if you don't like it here, that is the gist of his statement. xP It's bad optics to say, go back to your own country, but he said it in a number of different ways in the same post
The border wall law is passed, it just hasn't been able to get funding, which normally takes 60% of congress and not just 50%
it's kind of a shitty loophole; he shut down the governmeant for like longer than any other president to try and get funding
Defunding is just a political tactic, the price os actually nothing
I hope that like, we can get someone to promise to build the wall for like 1 dollar, and then a 12 billion dollar wall gets built xD

Trump has done quite a few things, but the border wall has been the hardest to get so far
There are still border patrol agents there, facilities meant to prevent them from going in to the U.S. and whatnot
The national guard and military was deployed to help protect it, but ideally there will be wall

out of 2000 miles, so that's like 10%, plus the existing border for like 800 miles
Trump hasn't been doing nothing, it's in court right now to get more sections of the wall built. They've tried to stop him in every way possible, and he went as far as letting the governmeant shut down to try and get the border wall. He's not dictator or black magic, no-one expects him to be able to personally build the wall xD
They understand he will push the issue as hard as humanly and legally possible, that's the point
Iran literally has been escalating things with the west for a while now, from trying to assassinate western leaders and attacking oil tankers
Border protection has improved, however only 10% more wall has been built. Still massive amounts of military personnel at the border, Mexico being urged in to helping stop people from crossing over illegally are all good things
We actually have someone in power trying to stop the illegal crossings, intead of just opening up the borders. With our current system, we are catching more than ever, so we know how many are actually trying to cross

Also I think the number of illegal immigrant crossings has gone down in terms of total numbers
The aprehensions captures figure is a percentage of the total and is usually used for the estimate of total potential crossings
if they knew about all the crossings few people would ever get across
So it's usually the number portrayed as a representation of a rough figure of total attempts

It depends on the defintion of wall, but yes, some of it is a fence

But a fence is still pretty useful
A good example is in Yuma arizona the fence stopped about 91% of border crossings
A fence usually works well 90% of the time
A giant concrete wall is better, but it's certainly a good start to have a fence
Sure, but it slows people down; with the border patrol agents present, it's enough time to catch these people
Any wall can be defeated given enough time, that is using a ladder to climb over and such; but with an active defense system as well, suc has border patrol going to arrest them, the delaying tactic allows them to actually catch them. It also serves as a detterrant
The border patrol agents in concert with a fence or wall is the way the system works

By mexico paying for it he meant that money would be saved by it not going to Mexico, with the 116 billion dollars we lose a year to Mexico staying here instead. He never said the mexican government would pay for it, only in the broad sense that Mexico would pay for it in the long run, and our economy would benefit. xP It's clear from the speech in context
