Maybe it's because I'm much of an expert of how caseless work, but I don't see why they can't do it with caseless. I assume they have a way to get ammo out of the chamber (other than firing the round)

Might as well stick with telescopic ammo then.

Telescopic is the same thing though, except it has a case

How do you get the round out of a caseless gun?

Well if you allow a case less gun to have an ejection port, why have a case less gun at all?

Cause the ammo is smaller

Might as well go for telescopic ammo which has the same advantage

If you can't get the round out then honestly jamming is the least of you're problems 🤔
Pretty sure you should still have a way to get the round out in a caseless gun

A gun can miss fire for other reasons

A bullet doesn't have to jam to stop a gun from functioning

Light primer strike, bad propellant, bad primer

@Baraban but again, if you're a soldier on the field, you want to be able to clear misfires in a jiffy.

Still seems like that kind of stuff can be solved

In the end it still became far superior to one shot weapons

@Baraban I think the main issue is heat transference. Currently the casing absorbs a lot of the heat and its ejection removes that heat from the gun, reducing the total thermal buildup inside the gun. Without the case to act as a heat sink, rapid fire becomes an even more serious overheating risk. Which is too bad, as one of the big advantages of caseless ammo is less time having to chamber and eject rounds/casings.

^^ Brass is really good at absorbing heat. Imagine your breach literally melting with sustained fire after a short while...
