@Deleted User Have you done any serious shooting with the c96?
Glad to see the stock
Ah, you get what you can
I don't even know if the stocks are matched to guns
Is that a P17 above it?
Ooh, even better
Wow.
Lucky boyyyy
Eh
As long as it works
Ah, just collecting them?
Mmmm swashtickers
Yeah, some are just too nice to use
Thank god for Privi Partisan
Yeah, they work it way too hard
You can open up the gas system though.
Huh
What do you reload it to for the garand, WWII spec?
Does it feel right?
I heard somewhere that you can open up the gas system on the Garand using some aftermarket parts and run modern ammo fine
That has the good shit
M2 ball is fucking weird
Yeah, it's weird on the level that it was designed to be ballistically inefficient, to a degree.
They mention it at 2:09 in the vid
Bureaucracy and all that
No worries, just want you to have all the options
Yeah, they're an odd round
I'm not too sure how I feel about composite rounds like that
You mean for civilain use?
Well all that means is that it's a limited commodity
I'm sure you could make your own if you could figure out the components
And had access to advanced metallurgical facilities
Too expensive?
Yeah, that's a lot of work for handloading
Nah, live in New England
Prohibitively expensive and don't want the harrassment from neighbors and government
Especially since the state DA is "reinterpreting" current legislation as she sees fit
I live through others, it's fine
You might be able to make 7.62 CETME if you wanted to do oddball rounds
Solid aluminum with a partial copper jacket
What do you shoot the .44 out of?
ooh
I'm sure people move a lane over once you fire it a few times
It's too old-school for anyone to really complain about it
Also too cool
Some day somebody's going to make some sort of advance that makes them better then automatics again
That'll be a fun day
Wow.
Never heard of that happening before
Oh, that's not so bad
I figured the cylinder fell out or something
You must shoot it a lot
Weird
I saw an enfield bolt fly out once, been a little nervous about malfunctions/failures since
huh
Misaligned primers or something?
That's concerning.
Does the brass deform visibly or is it some nebulous unsolvable issue?
Well short of beating them into the cylinder there's probably not much you can do on the range
.agree
Who would have guessed?
I think it's a potent weapon that I can't afford to not take advantage of, especially considering the high stakes
It doesn't need to be identity politics in the sense I think you see it in
It doesn't need to be a divisive form of identity politics, in fact it's purpose is to bring many peoples together under one banner
They were pretty nationalistic but integrated other tribes into their system through subsuming them into the national identity
Some groups became noteworthy for their skill in particular forms of combat, some became model citizens who adapted quickly to the Roman way of life, etc
People kept as much of their smaller group identity as was useful to society
@Deleted User Yeah, and some calvalry
@Deleted User Yes, but not because conformity is easy, but because it is mutually beneficial
Not total conformity, but enough that you and some totally different people can work together
If Roman armies, with all their auxilaries, irregular troops, standardized equipment, and multinational manpower don't represent one of the greatest achievements of nationalism to you, then I don't know what to say.
@Deleted User Globalism is economic colonization and mutual wage slavery on an unprecedented scale, and all parties are worse for it. No nation is self sufficient, all are exploited, and national pride in unique products and labors is reduced to gross GDP
Rome had the right idea, beat people until they comply, and then show them how nice you live.
@zahlman I mean, it's a big deal in some shitholes, but it's still a shithole, just marginally wealthier
Fuck the tags they put on their shirts, they are the actual worst
The plastic stickers that are ironed on or something, you have to peel them off a letter at a time
@Deleted User They have to be, to compete
I learned today that japan makes really good jeans because they bought up all the machinery in the states when it went under due to outsourcing
@zahlman We can all see that globalism has purported to bring the world closer, but has eroded what binds nations together
@Deleted User I think it's a lot of export, so some must be made for us amerifats
@Deleted User It's a net economic gain for the world, but those benefits mostly go into the pockets of multinational corporations and extremely wealthy individuals rather than to the societies that produced said goods
@Deleted User I'd be a communist if people were entirely logical and not emotional at all
