what's your favourite melee weapon? I would go for a Falchion in CC, or a Partisan in Group fights

People always underestimate the devastating power of the Partisan and other Pollarms. If I was in an uncivil war like what's happening in America right now and I wanted to kill: Sheilds and pollarms would be the best military solution in a melee combat situation

a sword weilding combattant could not pierce your lines with the shield+pollarm stratergy. Your men would be relatively immune to incomming projectiles from their front and above by their shields and helms

if the line is broken by cavalry, or they are attacked from the side/beheind then you would be countered relatively easily

I like reading Medieval military stratergy...it's my thing

it is legal to own your own body armour, but having my own sword would be troublesome - Luckilly, the Derbyshires Bougoise had the spiffing idea of consealing swords in their walking sticks
