The Aztecs had wheels, they were found on a toy. They never employed them for farming or anything else for a variety of reasons. First, Mexico doesn’t exactly have many animals capable of pulling a cart. Second, what they were farming (beans, corn, squash) allowed them to pick by hand (corn is the most efficient crop in calories/acre). At the time Cortés found it, Tenochtitlán was the largest city in the world, and had a good portion of the city built on a lake. They were pretty damned barbaric though, and, well *imperialistic*, which you’d think the lefties would hate.
