I bet we could use cameras like that for iris matching if we could get good enough pictures. Maybe bring a IR LED array to make sure you get a good image.

Or at the very least it would scare them once they realize what it's for.

You'd have to have a ridiculously high resolution image to get usable iris data from a distance (I'm talking more than a foot away from their face).

But it could be some good psychological warfare to get one of those above cameras and put a big "INFRARED IRIS SCANNER" sign on it and point it at them lol.
