I used to be a carpet fitter back when I first left college.

Part time carpet fitter, part time shop runner. Pretty decent.

Seeing the result of refitting an entire house with new carpets was so damn rewarding, honestly. Especially when the house was shit at the beginning.

And going into people's houses that were exceeding £1 million in value was gnarly.

@wotmaniac Oh, another story from that area: There was a kid who was flying a remote control plane and knocked on my dad's door. He asked my dad for £20 for the plane so my dad said he'd give him the money if he could land it.
