Might be total BS though

2019-10-16 22:35:07 UTC

It is 11:30pm

2019-10-16 22:38:24 UTC

I mean you could find a way around it I guess. But I would essentially boil down to getting an item insured for more than its given value at custom maybe?

2019-10-16 22:39:01 UTC

all i can find officially is from march, a statement from HMRC which is essentially "individuals are fucked"

2019-10-16 22:39:37 UTC

I knew a guy that voted remain only because he wanted cheaper lego

2019-10-16 22:39:40 UTC

Because of VAT

2019-10-16 22:39:57 UTC

So yeah I see the conundrum

2019-10-16 22:40:06 UTC

How would you fix it?

2019-10-16 22:47:15 UTC

raise the personal import allowance to something like the US

2019-10-16 22:47:52 UTC

or since they want to move charging to the supplier (good luck with that), any parcel that comes from a non-business should be VAT free

2019-10-16 22:48:15 UTC

it would be fraudulently avoided by lots of small businesses of course

2019-10-16 22:49:32 UTC

when items are shipped across borders like that, usually you do have to complete a form which specifies if you are a personal individual - so just use that. if it was shipped by an individual, dont charge VAT

2019-10-16 22:50:30 UTC

it's a standard piece of data on customs paperwork

2019-10-16 22:51:24 UTC

you can also use categories - some types of item are zero duty AND zero vat rated

2019-10-16 22:51:50 UTC

you could say that any used item is VAT free

2019-10-16 22:52:48 UTC

there are lots of 'could' here but let's be honest the most realistic outcome is a tax bonus and a hit to individuals

2019-10-16 22:53:50 UTC

firstly its easy as nothing needs to be done, secondly when was the last time you saw a government in europe reduce taxes on the population?

2019-10-17 00:15:54 UTC

ironically the fbpe momentum brown shirts will probably come after her now

2019-10-17 00:23:57 UTC

She deserves some hate from this, attacking Corbyn by claiming he's anti-semitic is disingenuous. Elements of his party are to be sure (and something is to be said of his Islamaphilia not that, that is what she's talking about) but this screams of jumping a sinking ship while throwing Corbyn under the bus will false allegations to save face

2019-10-17 00:35:12 UTC

shes the second labour mp from liverpool to quit because of anti semitism

2019-10-17 00:35:19 UTC

definitely smoke there

2019-10-17 02:57:01 UTC

Am I allowed to hate Corbyn for tolerating the anti-semites?

2019-10-17 02:57:28 UTC

you are allowed to hate corbyn for any reason you can think of <:hypersmugon:544638648721604608>

2019-10-17 09:11:52 UTC

2019-10-17 09:12:21 UTC

People finally waking up and realizing that it's the collectivists that hate Jews the most

2019-10-17 09:13:17 UTC

It's almost as if collectivists have hatred for successful groups
