Starting Strength is one of the best plans to start with in my opinion.
If one were looking for one to start
@The Huwhyte Ulf - VA I started with the turk meme stronglifts 5x5 added with curls and pulls. kettlebell and runs on off days. I am seeing great progress but it may be many more months until I get really big
I started with a month of keto too but now I am just at a generic low carb
keto gave me gut distress
I have a buddy that has been doing keto and has lost 20 lbs in a couple months. I dont think its for everyone though.
I have tried different routines but always come back to super sets as Arnold speaks about.
Chest/back, Biceps/Triceps integrate shoulders into either day. I also throw in some legs between the two days as well but sometimes just add a third day of legs.
@The Huwhyte Ulf - VA Yeha I lost 30 but I was 300 to start
Oh yes I always do weighted calf raises
They say calves recover quickly
Ive had that impression with mine. Gotta go heavy to see results. At least for myself
same with biceps.
Those are weak areas of mine
I just don't want to look weird, with big thighs and hips and butt from deadlifts and squats but tiny lower legs
Calves make or break you having "chicken legs"
Look up Kevin Nee, he is a strongman with basically nonexistent calves. It looks strange, but I don't think anyone ever thinks he skips leg day
Some peoples genetics dont allow their bodies to be as asthetic as others.
TBH yeah you need to put some work into them, but I think BIG calves are pretty ugly.
Nee looks fine.
@Deleted User you don't approve?
Half joking here
they can definitely be aesthetic and add proportion, I'm just lazy about them
I got my calves from playing sports and hiking
Be a good Alpenmeister and go for a hike once a week
absolutely
rucking is great
Arnolds high volume routine will work better if youre stickin a ml in your glute
Do a strength based routine, its better for building mass generally than a bb split
Add accessories as you see fit tailored to what you want to look like and where youre lacking
A strict diet and a strength routine with linear or at least some form of progression will take you places for sure as a natty. Doing a bb split as a beginner/intermediate lifter is wasting your time. You can get to your goals so much quicker with strength based progressions
🤔
What is a BB split?
Are you talking about a bro split/push pull legs routine? In that case, I'd totally disagree with you @BryceB-ND
I've seen so many dudes with SAD results sticking to solely a 5x5 routine
Nvm I see you didn't specifically mention 5x5. My bad
I do a ppl
Ppl is great
Same, agreed
Bb i abbreviated bodybuilding
