I do 16/8 just about every day. (hardly consider that fasting, honestly) Once or twice a month I do a 24hr, lunch to lunch, but I've gone as long as 48.hrs.

I've hit the 48 mark as well, I don't really enjoy it after 72.

People seem to be big on it, but intuitively, one'd think it'd jack up your metabolism, sending you into starvation mode, no?
I find greater mental clarity, an instant loss of 1-3 lbs (not just water weight) and some studies claim it speeds the regeneration of stem cells/helps with circadian rhythm.
Honestly the best way to lose weight is to eat small meals around 6-8 times a day. Fasting causes your body to store more fat and caloties.

I think fasting is better, cause you're not always around food...
@Virgil Yeah, that's what a lot of competitive bodybuilders do, but between my schedule, and just being a creature of habit, I can't make it work...
Lifestyle can be pretty prohibitive of 6-8 small meals too.
I know that'd be nearly impossible for me.
