This is anecdotal, but, an example is Poland. People have their opinions and no one really cares if you disagree with them. When I tell people who visit from Poland about how it's dangerous to have certain opinions here, they thing it's absurd.
Even to the more liberal people living in Poland it's weird to them that I should worry about being open about supporting Trump
@Jacob same experience with Italians
@Jacob I met some based Poles in Ireland. But they did leave Poland so IDK how based they can be
Yeah, friends of mine who really never " grew up " can never understand why I would be on one of the polarizing ends of opinions.
@Nemets I noticed Eastern European stores in the US have a crazy disproportionate amount of products from Lithuania and Latvia
especially Latvia
Interesting how people feel free in the right leaning countries and not the left leaning ones
Look at the labels next time you go to a Russian store, everything is "Product of Latvia"
@Sam Anderson Were English/Irish/Scots/French who came to America in the first wave based?
it's really weird
Is it just cheaper than other countries to get from Latvia @Jacob ?
@Jacob I wonder if there's some trade deal thing that incentivizes that.
" A nation for white men of good character " I'de say that's about based incarnate
BLUE microphones are from Latvia
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN Well they went over and colonized, instead of being menial laborers, so yes.
.... why Latvia
Okay well conquered
@Asatru Artist - MD You'd think the cheapest countries to get it from would be the poorer ones, and, as far as I know, Latvia isn't particular poor as far as Eastern European countries go
Hahaha
@Sam Anderson which involved quite a bit of labor. But if you're making a "they did it without welfare" type point, then okay.
It’s really not. Latvia and Estonia are easily some of the wealthier Eastern European countries
Why haven't the Eastern European countries pulled themselves out of poverty? @Jacob Any ideas?
I’m gonna import flour from the Vatican
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN They came over to do their own thing really. They did not come to be the next generation of HVAC guys, they came to take land for their own people.
@Asatru Artist - MD A massive reason for that is brain drain. Part of the reason I'm so anti-immigration is because it harms my ancestral homeland.
Maybe it's harder for non-coastal cities to be self-sustaining
@Sam Anderson Okay, so you cite a modern trade. Were none of the British/Irish colonists the 1700s equivalent: blacksmith, cobbler, cooper?
I have like. No idea what Eastern European culture is like, really. At a micro level. I made pierogis once. They’re based.
I don't blame people for TRYING to find economically better situation. Whether they should be ALLOWED to by other countries, is, of course, a different situation.
People will always try to do what's best for themselves.

No matter the consequences.
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN They came to make their own societies. Its not like they came to try an monopolize steel while living with Native Americans who did not have it. They came to take the land and make their own societies.
But I don’t wanna go to Kiev
I don’t speak a word of Ukrainian
@Sam Anderson Okay, there is a distinction with the depopulated / uncivilized land. I just have some sympathy for former Warsaw pact countries, being whites, and them having lived under Communism.
Huh
