@Nemets so finding out who is energized to vote seems to be more important than measuring the actual public opinion?

2018-10-22 04:09:14 UTC

There's another important factor in that

2018-10-22 04:09:23 UTC

It depends how much people care about a certain issue

2018-10-22 04:09:36 UTC

So, they might be voting, but voting based on a different issue

2018-10-22 04:10:39 UTC

@Nemets nice. I just joined my state GOP's capitol club so I can hobnob with big wigs

2018-10-22 04:10:44 UTC

Trump's core ideas were popular. Most leftists even admit they mainly hate him as a person

2018-10-22 04:11:59 UTC

When it comes to polling on immigration, it's usually very biased. Few people will say "immigrants are bad" but, if you let them pick out the number we should take in, a majority want immigration cut by more than half

2018-10-22 04:12:30 UTC

good tip!

2018-10-22 04:12:37 UTC

Let's say that 100% of people are socialists, and there's two parties. One of them is socialist, and one of them is capitalist. The capitalist party is anti-immigration, and the socialist party is pro-immigration. If you're a socialist but you *really* don't like immigration, you'll still vote for the capitalist party, since that's the issue you're voting based on.

It also depends how much a particular side cares about a particular issue. Let's say 10% of the population is anti-immigration, and *really* hates immigration, while 60% of the population is pro-immigration, but doesn't care that much. The anti-immigration candidate could still win, because the pro-immigration crowd votes based on some bullshit like tax rates.

2018-10-22 04:12:43 UTC

Did that make sense?

2018-10-22 04:13:09 UTC

Was that your state party?

2018-10-22 04:13:26 UTC

Also looking into the county and city, although both of those are a little questionable for me

2018-10-22 04:13:45 UTC

This is one of the only democratic counties in the state

2018-10-22 04:15:09 UTC

@Jacob That's why governments never allow direct referendums on immigration law. If they did, the anti-immigration side would win easily. In a general election, not enough people are single issue voters for the same effect. Not to mention that republican politicians refuse to support their constituents over their donors once elected

2018-10-22 04:16:40 UTC

Do you think it's worth getting involved with any of the clubs? There's only one I qualify for, which is the young republicans, but would it be worth getting involved there too?

2018-10-22 04:17:09 UTC

i would think so, if that's your thing

2018-10-22 04:17:18 UTC

any way we can pull people further right the better

2018-10-22 04:18:01 UTC

nice

2018-10-22 04:20:13 UTC

I'm pretty well versed but can't hurt to brush up

2018-10-22 04:21:33 UTC

Maybe read this instead of the Bible

2018-10-22 04:22:21 UTC
2018-10-22 04:22:25 UTC

or this

2018-10-22 04:22:35 UTC

lmao that thumbnail

2018-10-22 04:25:48 UTC

can you cite some parts?

2018-10-22 04:26:29 UTC

can you summarize?

2018-10-22 04:26:42 UTC

I don't really know a lot about the Bible

2018-10-22 04:26:50 UTC

its strange how some "globalists" are such nationalists... 🤔

2018-10-22 04:26:56 UTC

I'm too blackpilled on Christianity to go church or anything

2018-10-22 04:27:10 UTC
