People are welcome to practice whatever religion they like, so long as it is not directly at odds with European-American self-affirmation and governance. Islam does not fall under that category, and the member in question was "trolling you, epic style".

If you have an issue with a particular member's views that cannot be settled amicably, I highly recommend reaching out to leadership/your coordinator privately instead of airing this grievance publicly in the future.
