Secession is a topic that needs to reenter the mainstream
Everyone would be happier
every time i bring that up everyone is like "OMG it'll be the end of the world!!!11!1!!"
no, losing Cali wouldn't be the end of the world. Sorry, not sorry.
I have no idea why people are so opposed to it. Literally every national election is a civil war and it has aways been that way
@american_frankenstein it's amazing how fast the demographics have changed in norcal just in the past year
Even just breaking up into regions would be infinitely better
@american_frankenstein I'm just postering
It would be a major change to the US economy dealing with Cali as a foreign state
Though surely disentanglement would be phased and gradual
Yeah economics is really the only actual argument against it
But it’s not a great argument
oh cool you are putting up posters?
Most states would be economically competitive as countries
Yup
Georgia would have the 28 largest economy if it were a country
And I’m a ok with being the 28 largest economy
Well I'm a good ol rebel
Haha no I’m just saying that secession would make everyone happier
The south would be a totally viable nation
@Freiheit - CA cool, i have to do like one more orientation thing and after that i think i can start helping with that stuff, i used to put up ads for guitar lessons so i actually have a kit i made for it
The large *ahem* Bantu population would be a question
If we split off as a region rather than as individual states we’d be super powerful
@american_frankenstein Would be happy to have you.
i'm in marin county next to SF
Well they’re a question now so that wouldn’t change
I mean if something like 30% of your nation state is black
rather than 12% now
At least we wouldn’t have to worry about NY and Cali screwing everything up for us
We don't wheat paste, we only use non-permanent adhesive, like tape. I would, however, value your expertise.
Yes Southrons know the issue unlike smug coastal elites
And the other thing is that NY and Cali would be much happier as well. It’s a total win win which is why i dont get that it’s such a taboo topic
It's probably not taboo talking to Cali libs
It's probably only taboo to unaware centrists who are spooked by the concept of secession
I know they had their little freedom movement post Trump
Which unfortunately did not amount to anything
Cali can't afford to be isolated.
Their economic strength is hammered without being the American tech hub/Port of LA
