My grandma would give me stickers whenever I went to her house for me to put on things I wanted when she died.

2018-11-08 22:26:06 UTC

We all had different colors.

2018-11-08 22:26:08 UTC

2018-11-08 22:26:33 UTC

My grandfather used to talk to my mother about that but now he's turning 89 and still works and is probably going to live forever.

2018-11-08 22:26:41 UTC

@ophiuchus haha yeah that's grim too

2018-11-08 22:27:28 UTC

2018-11-08 22:27:35 UTC

My great-grandfather is turning 101 this winter

2018-11-08 22:27:54 UTC

Does he smoke, drink, and eat bacon?

2018-11-08 22:28:09 UTC

Broward County = Hive of villainy

Sheriff Scott ISRAEL (Parkland stand downer)
Trayvon Martin
Parkland highschool shooting
Maga b*mber
Debbie waserman Schultz
Gore vs Bush and the hanging chads

Many such cases!

2018-11-08 22:28:33 UTC

Not to mention the population of tribe members there

2018-11-08 22:28:35 UTC

He hasn't drank or smoked but he does eat bacon

2018-11-08 22:29:42 UTC

My gf’s grandfather is 94, had a martini and a big fat steak at his birthday dinner

2018-11-08 22:29:48 UTC

Nice

2018-11-08 22:29:49 UTC

My great grandmother was 102 when she died

2018-11-08 22:29:54 UTC

I remember being scared of her

2018-11-08 22:29:59 UTC

lol what

2018-11-08 22:30:04 UTC
2018-11-08 22:30:18 UTC

Were you afraid because she ewas so old?

2018-11-08 22:30:19 UTC

was*

2018-11-08 22:31:15 UTC

She had really kind of lost it when she was that old. She was from Britain, and was there during WWII. Whenever a truck would go by their house, it went over a bridge and made a really loud noise. She’d freak out and say “THEYRE BOMBING AGAIN THEYRE BOMBING AGAIN ITS THE BLITZ” and try to hide

2018-11-08 22:31:18 UTC

Scared me

2018-11-08 22:31:45 UTC

I was like 5

2018-11-08 22:32:04 UTC

Speaking of Broward county.

Jesus, that must have been very scary. In retrospect, many tragic things are funny and vice versa.

2018-11-08 22:32:16 UTC

Yeah I could see how that might be a little jarring

2018-11-08 22:32:31 UTC

It’s funny and terrible at the same time

2018-11-08 22:33:08 UTC

Old people can be incredibly interesting and troves of knowledge and wisdom, though. My friend's grandfather is in his 90s and dying of cancer, but is still as sharp as a tack sometimes. He asked my last name and I told him and he immediately said "Danish!" - which it is.

2018-11-08 22:35:16 UTC

Your last name is Danish? That's weird mine is Strudel, small world

2018-11-08 22:35:30 UTC

Oh wow you’re Danish? I had another great grandmother from Denmark

2018-11-08 22:35:41 UTC

Thought I was the only semi Dane here

2018-11-08 22:35:46 UTC

Haha.

2018-11-08 22:35:48 UTC

Maybe there are many of us.

2018-11-08 22:35:51 UTC

My surname name is anglicized, but the records show it as Danish previously.

2018-11-08 22:35:55 UTC

Same

2018-11-08 22:36:14 UTC

I met someone in Germany who had the exact same sounding name but it was spelled differently

2018-11-08 22:36:31 UTC

2018-11-08 22:36:36 UTC

No wait, coffee cake

2018-11-08 22:37:00 UTC

My first name is of Danish descent actually
