There’s literally nothing wrong with tuning out for a minute and enjoying some social time with people without having to tell them about the ethnic makeup of the people who made the movie you’re watching

2018-11-09 03:42:30 UTC

I honestly need to work on it myself, to be able to hold more meaningful conversations on non political topics

2018-11-09 03:42:31 UTC

I like my team and I like seeing them win

2018-11-09 03:42:32 UTC

If you genuinely enjoy it, then you're lucky, because so do a lot of other people!

2018-11-09 03:42:37 UTC

and I don't feel its unproductive at all

2018-11-09 03:42:39 UTC

You can connect with people through that.

2018-11-09 03:42:46 UTC

@ophiuchus Ya, you *should* be doing that

2018-11-09 03:42:52 UTC

because 90% of my time is put into work, school, and extra curricular activities

2018-11-09 03:42:57 UTC

You have to be able to be in this world without losing your mind due to the stress, and without being so consumed you’re molded by it.

2018-11-09 03:43:04 UTC

It's harmful to have politics on your mind 100% of the time and makes you go insane

2018-11-09 03:43:05 UTC

the rest is GAMING and SPORTSBALL baby

2018-11-09 03:43:26 UTC

Contrary to the prevailing AR opinion for a while, not every waking moment of your life has to be devoted to the cause.

2018-11-09 03:43:31 UTC

Gaming....... ugg

2018-11-09 03:43:36 UTC

come at me

2018-11-09 03:43:52 UTC

Gaming is the metaphysical Hegelian path to victory

2018-11-09 03:43:53 UTC

I'm about to level up and you look like just enough XP

2018-11-09 03:44:09 UTC

I’m not suggesting you completely tap out and revert to normiedom, but you know. Have some hobbies.

2018-11-09 03:44:15 UTC

For me its gaming, running and books

2018-11-09 03:44:16 UTC

Yeah, it's good to be "mindful". Be present in almost every moment but not over-absorbed into every moment. Then you can take a look at life through the glass clearly.

2018-11-09 03:44:19 UTC

You are allowed to enjoy things.

2018-11-09 03:44:35 UTC

Gaming is achieving things in a fake reality.

Go lift weights instead, bro.

2018-11-09 03:44:38 UTC

I definitely need to expand my non-political hobbies

2018-11-09 03:45:09 UTC

@Tyler0317 I exercise, I'm working on an education, and I'm involved in politics to a realistic degree

2018-11-09 03:45:10 UTC

Everyone here should be doing things to raise their heart rate every single day, 30 minutes preferably, but you don't have to jump right into it.

2018-11-09 03:45:18 UTC

I can game in my free time lmao

2018-11-09 03:45:32 UTC

I worked out a couple days ago but I hurt myself like a moron

2018-11-09 03:45:37 UTC

Now I walk funny

2018-11-09 03:45:38 UTC

Gamer nationalism now!

@Tyler0317 I think that's kind of the problem with getting too obsessed with watching football. Pretending that these teams have something to do with you is getting invested in a fake reality, which is a problem that doesn't exist while playing it yourself. Not saying people should just give up watching their favorite sports, but it should be moderated, as with anything.

2018-11-09 03:45:50 UTC

Aww sorry to hear that, Nitrodubs. Kudos to you for working out, though.

2018-11-09 03:46:23 UTC

Pro tip: if u do lunges use correct form or you will die.

2018-11-09 03:46:43 UTC

If I have a few solid hours of completely clear free time, and I've done what needs to be done for the day I can do whatever

2018-11-09 03:46:52 UTC

Training for actual goals/competitions is 100x more valuable that "Leveling up" on some fake reality on your tv screen.

2018-11-09 03:46:58 UTC

Escapism is constantly promoted to us through television, video games, sports ball, etc, etc. Try to enjoy things without using them to escape reality.

2018-11-09 03:47:08 UTC

sounds like you're a bad gamer

2018-11-09 03:47:27 UTC

Why not both, Tyler?

2018-11-09 03:47:41 UTC

Gaming is like drinking

2018-11-09 03:47:45 UTC

Our time on earth is limited. :)@Selma

2018-11-09 03:47:48 UTC

@NITRODUBS Once your muscles get used to the exercise they won't hurt as much.

2018-11-09 03:47:54 UTC

Hey games are nice every now and then

2018-11-09 03:47:55 UTC

Its a fun social actvity
