@Papa Pizzagate Ian..how are you sir? Is there a agriculture server?

2018-11-14 16:49:51 UTC

There's a section in the skills server.

2018-11-14 16:49:59 UTC

@hbutzer0511 there is agriculture in the skills server

@hbutzer0511 @Der Seeteufel - SD who i met at DTR is a terrific dude, and could probably talk about that all day.

2018-11-14 16:51:57 UTC

I was wondering how @Der Seeteufel - SD is, he used to post all the time about his farm

2018-11-14 16:52:50 UTC

I'm very busy

2018-11-14 16:53:10 UTC

@Papa Pizzagate @ThisIsChris Yep.. remember his posts. Heading back to school for sustainable agriculture. Would enjoy picking his brain

I might be a softy but it breaks my heart every time we lose a brother. I don’t know this particular situation and I don’t know what he was saying. But I do know that it saddens me every time we lose a member. I am wondering if perhaps a more wise approach would be for the leadership of IE to have some sort of an intervention if you will, instead of kicking people out. Sometimes people simply need to be reigned in a bit and even reprimanded... in a loving way. I worry that when we kick people out, we make potential enemies who might become so bitter and resentful that they might try to get back at us. Again, I don’t know this particular situation: perhaps this guy had already been talked to, I don’t know. All I know is that if I ever said something that was not in line with IE, i would hope the leadership would talk to me first and let me know that unless I “change” , my membership is in jeopardy. Am I being too much of a softy?

We lost someone?

@Der Seeteufel - SD Check out my article link I just posted above.

2018-11-14 16:56:25 UTC

Will do

2018-11-14 16:56:29 UTC

Inspiring

2018-11-14 17:07:14 UTC

@Grayson I think your comment is in line with current moderator and leadership thinking. Most of the discussion or intervention is done in the DMs or between coordinator and member. I believe there have been a few instances of mentorship with younger members whose irl persona was exemplary but whose online persona needed much improvement

2018-11-14 17:08:24 UTC

@StevePines -WA yeah, someone was NS-posting and wouldn’t accept that it was a bad idea

that said, I hope (and trust) that efforts are made to talk to people and try to help them fix their approach before they get booted

2018-11-14 17:08:40 UTC

IE upper leadership has done a phenomenal job at this. I’ve been beyond impressed at the professionalism around bans

2018-11-14 17:08:48 UTC

Same

2018-11-14 17:08:53 UTC

@Grayson The fact that you are open to change demonstrates your worldview is not rigid and that you are not an ideologue- a good thing.

2018-11-14 17:11:14 UTC

Hey who is the MI coordinator and is he on often? Don't think I've seen a blue "-MI" person yet

2018-11-14 17:11:57 UTC

Like I said guys I don’t know this particular situation. I don’t know if this guy had been reprimanded and privately talked to. Perhaps he was beyond reproach. I just worry that’s all. I don’t want people to getting mad and resentful and try to sabotage upcoming events for instance.

2018-11-14 17:12:42 UTC

There will always be a degree of assimilation, dropping some poor habits picked up in the alt-right and what not - but we're trying to assemble an all-star organization. If you are unable or unwilling to change, I doubt we can help you much. We're looking for great people or folks with strong potential, not project cases or fixer uppers.

2018-11-14 17:13:06 UTC

My IE brothers have a special place in my heart even though I haven’t met most of you. So losing a member is not a moment of celebration

2018-11-14 17:13:36 UTC

of course not. to be fair though, he was still in the pledge process

2018-11-14 17:13:37 UTC

The new pledge role has been instrumental

2018-11-14 17:13:49 UTC

Indeed.

2018-11-14 17:16:27 UTC

All due credit to @Matthias, mostly.

2018-11-14 17:16:49 UTC

Well...

2018-11-14 17:17:26 UTC

Boss is typing ! Look busy

2018-11-14 17:18:22 UTC

@tsea I’ll get you in touch shortly

2018-11-14 17:18:51 UTC

@Reinhard Wolff hrm, was that one yours?

2018-11-14 17:20:17 UTC
2018-11-14 17:20:25 UTC

Thanks

2018-11-14 17:20:44 UTC

No problem! Welcome to IE!

2018-11-14 17:28:59 UTC

Who do we get to thank for our beautiful purple pledges?

2018-11-14 17:38:31 UTC

People have gotten deradded by IE before. But there are certain people who are so spergy and forceful in their "views" that there's no changing them. They have to at least be under control enough to basically keep their mouths shut while they are recovering.

2018-11-14 17:38:54 UTC

This guy was not that.

2018-11-14 17:38:57 UTC

Unfortunately.

2018-11-14 17:41:09 UTC

@⚡Clark⚡ *leadership* given that Matt and Patrick both live at the HQ, it's hard to say who conceived of it first

2018-11-14 17:43:29 UTC

@Papa Pizzagate gosh our leadership is outstanding. Putting their minds together to create flawless strategies- a beautiful image indeed
