Grandparents have always been picky about how well their steak is cooked to the point that they ruined it.. πŸ˜‚ Literally made rubber because it was medium and hated the rubber.

That's why I finally bought the meaters

2020-12-01 03:17:40 UTC

Lol, yeah the cooking method and quality of beef are important in making sure it’s tender

2020-12-01 03:21:13 UTC

130Β° with the right cut is ridiculously tender and melt in the mouth

2020-12-01 03:40:50 UTC

I cook it at around 150-155. I think I'm going to move from using olive oil and use butter instead. I notice that butter leaves a much nicer sear on the steak.

2020-12-01 03:41:36 UTC

Do you add herbs like rosemary when you sear?

2020-12-01 03:41:47 UTC

no, it's on a grill

2020-12-01 03:41:53 UTC

I just salt it and bag it overnight

2020-12-01 03:41:55 UTC

to let the salt sink

2020-12-01 03:41:59 UTC

and marinate

2020-12-01 03:42:07 UTC

Ah πŸ‘πŸ»

2020-12-01 03:42:14 UTC

I thought you meant you pan sear

2020-12-01 03:42:27 UTC

np, I do want to try butter & rosemary one day

2020-12-01 03:42:33 UTC

that sounds like a winning combination

2020-12-01 03:42:53 UTC

Yeah! Pretty good!

2020-12-01 14:41:14 UTC

Nah

My fiance just made the best fried rice ever. He mixed rice from yesterday with wild rice and quinoa and I don't even like quinoa that much but it's really good

Low carb fries,

12g carbs in 1/4 cup flour, but 11g are dietary fiber, so 1 net carb per serving

Ready a pan with oil in it heating to about 325 degrees fahrenheit (or higher, most cook tops have not-so-handy info like low or high, in this case put it on high)

1 cup sweet lupin flour
1 tbsp Xanthan Gum
1/2 tsp salt
4 oz hot water

Add dry ingredients to a food processor and mix with a dough attachment. Add all but about a tablespoon of hot water, mix for a few seconds, then add the rest of the water. Mix until it becomes a dough ball. Knead for one minute, roll it out on parchment paper and cut into fry shapes. Spread them out in the oil in the pan and fry for a couple minutes. Different sizes will take more or less time to cook. Remove from oil and but on a paper towel/ plate. Hit with a little salt right away.

You can pan fry, or fry in a basket, or bake in a 400 degree farenheit oven for 15-20 minutes. Just watch them to make sure they don't burn.

Good alternative for diabetics because the carbs are over 90% dietary fiber, which helps control blood sugar.
