I was taught some basics probably about 6. I was in cub scouts so that was partially why but my family is also big hunters so I had been shooting 22s longer then I can remember.
That being said, while we got to go shoot guns fairly often, it was always drilled in the safety and the guns were kept lock in the safe when not in use. Can't speak for everyone's kids but for me being exposed young it prevented it from being forbidden knowledge.
It's almost like you would want the most qualified people for a job. Particularly when it is literally rocket science!

I hate how people are trying to preasure my little brother who runs his universities EMT program to give in and denouch the campus police department who have never done anything wrong. They are going as far as calling him a white surprimist and racist because he refuses to do so. He works with the cops everyday because the campus EMT program is actually under the campus police department. Thankfully why many of the in-charge under him are preasuring him he hasn't given in and his diret boss is backing him and saying it is rediculas to do so. If he wasn't so far away from me, I'd go and give some of those people a piece of my mind, call my racist (BTW I'm not) but leave my brother out of all this politics.

I live in Tennessee and our Governor has been promising constitutional carry for years but only recently started work on a bill to do so. Unfortunately, the constitutional carry bill he supports is not a replacement for a permit and has lots of limitations and lacks some of the protections the permit gives.

We had protestors bused into my town but the cops have been on top of it and even made a statement they would arrest and prosecute anyone who commits violence or property damage so it has been peaceful outside one arrest for one counter protester who was at fault.

I like my XDS 9mm because it's small enough for me to comfortably appendix carry and stay hidden.
With the standard magazine my pinky hangs off a little bit not enough to interfere with the mag release. I keep the flush 7 round in the pistol and carry an extended 9 round magazine with it just in case.

Nothing wrong with a 22, sometimes it's just nice to target practice with something you can shoot for a long time for next to nothing. I started shooting a 22 at 6.
If a 22 gets the laymen into the 2nd amendment I'm all for it. It's still a better defense then not having a gun and being cheap to shoot means they are more likely to practice. That said, I prefer a larger pistol caliber but there are still times I like to use a 22 just so I can shoot a lot and not think about how much money I spending.
Sure outside getting an initial weapon skills it's not something that transfers but if I just want to shoot bottles or random things it's cheap.

You can actually still own guns in most states if someone older purchased then transfer it to you (which can be an informal transfer) as long as they have no reason to believe you would use it to commit a crime and would otherwise not be barred from owning one like having a criminal record, non citizen/legal resident, or restraining order. I had multiple of my own guns long before I was 18 because they were gifted to me.

I've looked at getting one too and while I wish there was some cheap practice rounds, the defensive rounds are about the same price per round or even a little less then I pay for my 9mm HST HP.
As for finding the ammo, do you live in a state where you can't buy ammo online? I've only bought ammo in person once in the last few years and usually just buy my ammo in bulk online and have it shipped discreetly to my house. Only problem with that is I feel bad for my UPS delivery man who has to carry about 45 pounds of ammo up three flights of stairs.
I buy 1000 round of bulk usually because it comes with free shipping which you kinda need if you are shipping that much.
If they ever tried that, I'd actually have a reason to try and learn to reload. Unfortunately my preferred practice ammo for my 9mm is in steel casings which aren't meant to be reloaded.

I still remember the confused look one of my friends from undergrad gave me when I casually mentioned I had a concealed carry pistol, not that I was carrying at the time because Tennessee is stupid and doesn't let college students protect themselves on campus unlike Texas where my brother goes to university. Thankfully my rural graduate school if you don't own a gun or two you are the outlier.
From what I could tell from a Google search, one or more cell providers are having a failure of their fiber backbone that is causing cell outages across the nation.
There are others if you search T-Mobile 911 outage. Some other articles say other providers are also affected.
For those who don't know how the internet works, Level 3 which that article said is the network backbone problem is one of a small handful of internet providers that feed the internet for the entire US. ISPs like Comcast and Spectrum actually buy their internet they sell to customers from providers like Level 3.
@Rat King I went to my first gun show in Febuary with some friends. They are really cool looking at all that is offered and then feeling sad because I only brought enough cash to buy a pistol.

The non political companies or channels posting BLM or Gay Pride stuff annoys me too. I'm actually see some of those that posted BLM agreement message and black squares magically remove them without any notice in the last few days because I imagine some people told them that this is not the place for that.
I see it though as them being weak thou. They don't seem to agree with the messages but only posted them because everyone else was and we're pressured into posting it but then removed the messages because if they didn't they would angered their primary audience.

The stream I'm watching on YouTube has over an extra 95,000 and I glanced at the views of other streams that have similar amount.
