There’s actually a decent Wisecrack video on Tolkien I’m too busy to link that covers his basic ideas.
Tolkien wrote long before it was even conceiveable that Men of the West would be replaced by Haradrim, Eastrlings and Uruks
@DeusVolk I mean, I'm not saying necessarily that Tolkien was /ourguy/ but his books revolve the Men of the West (white European men) uniting to drive out invading forces (the orcs). Tolkien's themes also covered issues such as traditionalism, anti-industrialism (as you said), and political corruption
I mean some conceived of it. The most astute and esoteric racial thinkers.
If nothing else, it's certainly a book(s) about European pride
@MrDefault Exactly
Also I'd be anti Industrialist if China didn't exist, basically.
🌲
(China or any other industrially powered threat)
The Rohirrim were thought of as Saxons with more open space
So Americans
Tolkien’s works much more greatly revolve around the cyclical decline of historical Ages and their failed attempts at recapturing the prior Age’s glory.
Something that is very timely to not just our current position but the West ever since arguably the HRE.
@DeusVolk Has anyone analyzed Tolkein through a Spengler/Yockey/Duchesne type lens? Sounds like a Counter Currents article
Exactly. Idk if anybody on our side of the aisle but that is the scholarly consensus.
Bardings/Laketown are Slavic.
The Eucatastrophe is a must-know.
Was Tolkein just Evola’s pen-name
Nah.. Evola would have written a story where Missing Blue Wizards and their wood elf GFs travel to Dorwinion and further east on a pilgrimage to the seashore where the elves first awoke. Also Buddhism and yoga sex.
Don’t forget something about Atlantis
what should i read from evola
that was quick
holy small text
Didn’t follow that at all
The file reads clearly before I post it
Funny, my family is finishing up the two towers tonight, been watching LOTR since NYE. The kids are loving it.
A bunch of white people getting together and fighting an invading darkness.
Don’t forget to watch Evola’s YouTube channel “TheReportOfTheWeek”
@Bogl - CA It's my favorite movies ever tbh
even after reading Evola, I just find the guy to be too damn weird
ty wood ape
@Salo Saloson He's a weeb
The guy took too many drugs
well he's go a bit beyond that. his Metaphysics of War is just... I dunno, man, there's some weird stuff in there
@Nico The Great - CA I agree. I am very careful about what I let my kids watch. When they're older I'll expose them to modern movies/propaganda, with supervision and explaining the propaganda as we go.
That’s a collection of essays isn’t it? @Salo Saloson
call me modernist, but that whole strain of traditionalism just comes off as wildly out of touch with reality
@Bogl - CA That's very good that you do that. Pretty sad that you have to though lol. The times we live in
