I was really interested in the Ukrainian protests when they first started, I still remember seeing Ukrainian snipers shooting at people in the street with make shift metal shields
It was a very interesting thing for sure.
Shows a political revolution doesn't require an all out civil war
I mean minus the Russian thing
I'll roll back my statement and say that drastic political change was achieved without destroying the country mostly.
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN people will realize that we’re right be then......hopefully
I'm kind of more emphasizing the accomplishments of maidan itself.
@Lawrence of Eurabia Big if true
True. I just think that many leftists mostly take a stance that any political upheaval will have protestors being ran over with tanks when that's simply not the case.
I'm personally of the opinion that Maidan only made things worse and was done with bad intentions from the beginning
but I get the other point of view
Giving up their nukes was a mistake.
My only stance on Ukraine is "Whites please stop shooting eachother, also no WW3 please"
Switching to the American sphere was a mistake for Eastern European countries in general
Syria is more relevant than Ukraine as far as that goes.
Poland got muh growth but lost it's sovereignty in pretty severe ways
As far as I last heard, Ukraine has stagnated into trench warfare
Yeah the lines are not moving.

@Nemets check out this cool advertisement by a nationalist party, you might understand some of it since you know Russian
One of my best friends growing up was half Polish half Bengali
I told you about the Filipinos, right?
pretty scary to think about
I hope some real nationalists get elected in Poland and they close the borders to everyone
Hopefully that'll get the birth rates to rise as well @Jacob
Even the Ukrainian stuff is a bit much with the amount they took
@The Eternal Anglo Poland has a lot of economic problems due to emigration right now. I think fixing that could cause birthrates to rise. Ideally, they would institute emigration restrictions.
@Nemets huh, that's an interesting point
a lot of people do have grudges against Ukrainians, so it's interesting that this was allowed so easily
Poland seems to have a huge apathy problem
So does America
I wouldn't be surprised if the typical white American is more patriotic than the typical Polak
Except one people, at all times @Nemets
even they @Freiheit - CA
Goodnight I.E.
@hbutzer0511 Good night!
The thing about Polish patriotism, is that a lot of people are into it purely for aesthetic reasons. They don't necessarily care about the future of their country, they just like the way the flags and eagles and stuff look. Because, let's be honest, it's pretty cool looking.
It is
My dad is like that. He has a Polish eagle tattoo, but he really couldn't care less what ethnicity his grandkids will be.
It's really bizarre. I'm genuinely nationalistic, but I try to blend in. Like, I'll talk about Polish stuff in here because I need a place to vent about politics, but, in real life, I kinda try to avoid it and keep my ethnic identity to myself. My dad is the opposite. He doesn't care what happens to his country or people or whatever, but he *loves* showing off patriotic aesthetics.
