Right On! @Grayson about 10-15 yrs ago my Aunt Monique, Uncle Danny & Dad went on a trip to Europe and had a blast. I could be wrong but believe that was from the castle they stayed at & had a blast cheering folks on etc. Could be wrong but I know was 1 of those.

I would cut IAus some slack on that quote. The point of the quote is a famous enemy of that war (among the least ideological and most skilled of them, really) praising NZ and AU with grudging respect.
It is like the apocryphal Yamamoto quote displayed by NRA members saying invading America is foolish because there is a hunter behind every blade of grass. Using that quote doesn't make you an Imperial Japan sympathizer.
