Why do furloughed federal workers get backpay? I don't understand the logic. I thought the point of furloughing them is that there isn't the money to pay them.
Not having enough money is not a Federal Government concept.
I understand backpaying people who worked, but people who didn't work?
Like, if my company goes down, it's not like the government back pays me for the time it took me to find a new job
