Andrew Yang cares more about White Americans than any Republican

2019-02-16 02:12:29 UTC

Listened to it yesterday, I like him.

2019-02-16 02:14:31 UTC

Now I don’t think he will win for 2 reasons.

2019-02-16 02:14:47 UTC

Its too early for UBI to happen, automation is not there yet.

2019-02-16 02:15:11 UTC

And to have this kind of position on workers, one would have to restrict immigration to make it work.

2019-02-16 02:15:23 UTC

And there is no way the Left will let that happen.

2019-02-16 02:17:41 UTC

Did you listen to all of it?

2019-02-16 02:17:59 UTC

According to him and the data it is relevant and pertinent.

2019-02-16 02:19:00 UTC

I gotta listen to it all again when Im not about to go to bed. And I trust the Autistic Asian man

2019-02-16 02:24:30 UTC

How does he care for white Americans?

2019-02-16 02:24:39 UTC

I’ll watch it another sometime tho

2019-02-16 02:40:43 UTC

Nah its a meme

2019-02-16 02:40:51 UTC

fresh of the presses from Alex

2019-02-16 02:46:08 UTC

Extra extra

2019-02-16 02:54:44 UTC

wait we'd have to restrict immigration to make UBI work?

2019-02-16 02:54:48 UTC

wtf I love UBI now

2019-02-16 03:00:09 UTC

Yeah itd be impossible to have that many gibs without restrictions on immigration

2019-02-16 03:00:15 UTC

Wouldn't UBI cost around $1 Trillion each year, since it gives $1K each month to everyone over 18. Even if it replaced welfare, that's still an extra $700-$800 billion we'd be spending.

2019-02-16 03:00:46 UTC

Yeah thats the lefty argument against it. At the end of the day it would end up decreasing welfare for the actual poor people.

2019-02-16 03:01:23 UTC

UBI is seriously retarded

2019-02-16 03:01:37 UTC

basically they took a strawman of socialism and made it real

2019-02-16 03:02:33 UTC

conservatives always flip out about social programs because "it's giving away free money for no reason", which isn't necessarily true, but in this case it's *actually* true

2019-02-16 03:03:52 UTC

It is not plausible until automation takes place to a crazy extent, ideally I would not have automation take control like that, but with the way political systems are in the US I do not know if that would happen.

2019-02-16 03:10:22 UTC

People that act like automation is going to suddenly replace half the jobs in 20 years or something are brainlets.

2019-02-16 03:11:33 UTC

Maybe eventually but keep it mind that the industrial revolution brought tractors and later combine harvesters that replaced the work on 20 field hands and did it faster, among other examples but it wasn't as if everyone was suddenly unemployed.

Stone toss based and red pilled once more

2019-02-16 03:15:28 UTC

@nord while I see your point, I think that AI could in many ways replace the need for humans at all. While the industrial revolution was mostly just about making labor more efficient. AI could replace the need all together.

2019-02-16 03:18:31 UTC

We're actually talking about UBI and automation in my economics class

2019-02-16 03:19:28 UTC

@Sam Anderson A lot of businesses could be automated, yet aren't. A lot of our work could be done autonomously.

2019-02-16 03:20:19 UTC

Why haven't the jobs that can already be automated done so already?

2019-02-16 03:22:00 UTC

Also this might be kind of an obvious point but, the argument that we need UBI because "gee all the jobs will get automated lol" Isn't valid until the jobs are actually all automated.

2019-02-16 03:22:52 UTC

Takes time lmao.

2019-02-16 03:23:27 UTC

Would you rather be ahead of it or have hundreds of thousands of angry workers who can't be retrained? If not millions?

2019-02-16 03:24:18 UTC

I want UBI for all gamers

2019-02-16 03:24:22 UTC

^

2019-02-16 03:24:23 UTC

Literally I'll believe it when I see it. I simply can not imagine automation suddenly displacing a significant amount of the workforce.

2019-02-16 03:25:02 UTC

UBI and automation would be devastating to the human psyche
